  • Inner Sea
  • The Inner Sea is the large body of water bounded by the North and South Landbridges, the Direlands on the west, and Osteth on the east. As mentioned in Directions to the Pillars of the Inner Sea, Yaraq was once a port to the Inner Sea where Empyrean Ships docked. Ships have not been seens since the arrival of the Isparians. (Because the area is uniformly untraveled, Turbine has placed a great majority of the dungeons physically within landblocks in the Inner Sea.)
  • The Inner Sea is one of the most heavily traveled and populated bodies of water in Golarion. Formed when the Starstone fell to earth, reshaping the face of the planet, the Inner Sea rests between Avistan and Garund. The sea is isolated from the Arcadian Ocean by a narrow straight under the Arch of Aroden which is currently under Chelaxian control, but trade in and out of the region is very strong and mostly free. The primary settlement within the sea itself is Absalom on the Isle of Kortos at the eastern end of the sea.
  • Once a year the sacred white barges of the Phoenix King and the Everqueen ply the waters to their respective shrines. These stately craft are an awe-inspiring sight, each carved from the bole of single great ironwood tree. Each ship is built for the coronation of the ruler and on his or her death bears them off to the Isle of the Dead at the center of the Inner Sea, to rest at last with the ancient rulers of Ulthuan. As the barges plough the blue waters nothing slows their stately progress, no wind fills their sails, no hand guides their tiller. They follow the lines of power that run through the Inner Sea to their destination. In times of great trouble, the ghostly outlines of the White Ships can be seen sailing the waters of the Inner Sea.[1a]
