| abstract | - The White Council is an upcoming role playing videogame based on J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. Like a previous RTS, The Battle for Middle-earth II, The White Council is based both on the books and Peter Jackson's films . The game has been postponed indefinitely by its distributor, EA Games. Using the working title Project Gray Company, the game was slated for release in 2007, but on February 2, 2007, EA announced that the game will be postponed indefinitely. In the meantime, EA worked with Pandemic Games to create Lord of The Rings Conquest . The White Council was planned to be released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. As of May 2011, no further news has been released regarding the game.
