  • James Norton
rdfs:comment
  • James Norton was a NASCAR driver from Dallas, GA. He competed in six Sprint Cup Series events in his career, earning one top-ten. Norton's debut came in 1960, when he competed at Hickory. Starting in 18th, Norton was very impressive despite his inexperience, driving to a 10th place finish that would prove to be his career-best. But the rest of the year was not a lost cause either, for despite falling out of three of his five events, Norton finished no worse than 18th the whole year, finishing 18th at Greenville, 12th at Weaverville and 13th at Birmingham and Nashville.

Norton's final race would come in the 1963 season, when he competed at Atlanta, essentially his home track. Starting 33rd in the field of forty-six, Norton had a frustrating race after losing an engine early and finishing 40th.
