Being the only child of the Santagar family, Gerold focused more on his duties and his training, always listening to his father and doing his duty first. Eventually in 365 AC Gerold had the chance to put his training to the test as his Father took him with when a sellsword fleet of The Seven Banners sailed up the Greenblood. After his father got injured by a stray arrow during one of the attacks, Gerold took command and eventually repelled the Sellswords, showing his skills with the spear and sending the sellswords down the Greenblood again. When Maron Santagar died of an infected wound two moons after the battle, Gerold Santagar returned to Spottswood and took up his role as the new Lord of Spottswood. He married Alysanne Martell, cousin to the current Prince of Dorne, in 366 AC, a match made by his mother. together they have two children, Maron and Dyanna.
