Like for most animals on the island, several different colour schemes exist; the most common being the ones with white fur and dark fur.
- Goats are common enemies that are found in the Medieval themed levels: Toad Village, Gee Wiz and Double Header in Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. They pace back and forth across the main path that Crash travels, and will attack Crash if they run into him, or he runs into them while they are facing him. If Crash runs into a goat while wearing an Aku Aku mask, the goat will vanish and Crash will lose his mask (unless he has Aku Aku invincibility). However, if Crash runs into the goat without a mask, the goat will headbutt Crash off the screen with its horns. Crash can defeat the goat by either jumping, spinning or sliding it away when it gets close to him. Goats are later shown in Crash Bandicoot Purple: Ripto's Rampage as trading cards and enemies in Dragon Castles.
- A Goat is an animal found in the Kharidian Desert south and south west of Nardah. They also can be found west of the Kalphite Hive along the coastline. They drop horns used in Herblore to create Combat potions, and used as Summoning tertiary ingredients in infusing Smoke devil pouches. The greatest amount of spawns are west of the Kalphite lair (accessible via Fairy ring ; however, the goats near Nardah are much closer to a bank.

- Goats were one of the US government's most hilarious pranks. Most people believe in their existence due to the fact they've never seen one. In the year 1870 the US Government wanted to see if they could get the public to believe in the existence of an animal by putting up pictures of them and making it general knowledge. They succeeded, and called the animal the "goat", but in reality no such animal exists. In a follow-up survey done by the government they asked over 1000 people if they believed in goats. 99% of them said yes. They then asked if any of them had ever seen a goat 90% replied no. When the interviewer pointed out this discrepancy the interviewee simply shrugged and said the interviewer was crazy and walked away.

- There is a tale of three billy goats on their way to pasture. They had to cross a bridge to get there, and a nasty troll lived under it. Now some trolls like to east the flesh of humans, but all of them delight in devouring goats. As the first goat went across, the troll went for it; but the clever beast convinced the troll to wait for his bigger brother, as he would make a larger meal. The troll waited and rushed the second goat, who too convinced the troll that there was a yet larger goat still to come. When the largest of the billy goats arrived, he rushed the troll, butted it off the bridge, and killed it. It is said that goats will eat almost anything; if one show one a carrot and it follows him anywhere. It has been said that if one shows a goat an old shoe or a tin it follows him anywhere.

However, Rat and Pig don't pay attention, instead usually starting to talk about something else such as baseball or The Apprentice. Goat dislikes conversing with the other characters at all; he much prefers reading. However, it seems that he most tolerates talking to Zebra; he is least tolerant when talking to Rat (although he tends to be equally hostile towards Pig). It is actually debatable if he dislikes talking to Rat or Pig more, Rat for his ego and self-centered remarks, which anger Goat greatly; however, Pig's stupidity has, on multiple occasions, equally driven Goat over the edge, particularly when he attempts to explain something simple to Pig, and Pig continues moving further and further into the wrong direction and misunderstanding everything Goat says. Goat's real name is revealed as "Paris" in the September 21, 2007 strip, claiming "Goat" is his stage name. He is the only character that has catchphrases, which are "I give up", "Never Mind", "Check Please" & "I'm leaving/going", usually at the very end of the strip in a resigned sort of mood. Despite his intellect, he never attempts to correct Pig when Rat misleads him, instead just leaving.

It's not exactly a bite when one is not responding to the troll for the troll's benefit, but for the edification of others. Is there a word for that? The origin of the term is meant to refer to the fable "The Three Billy Goats Gruff," wherein three goats of successively larger sizes try to cross a bridge guarded by a troll. The first two trick the troll into waiting for the next goat to come along, as they're larger and would make a better meal. The third goat is powerful enough to throw the troll over the side of the bridge.
