However, drowners have lately been harassing her, most likely under their leader, Zephyr's orders, to the point of stealing her turquoise necklace, a gift from the Lady of the Lake. She is also a skilled healer and as one possible reward for services rendered, she grants the witcher the status of lifelong patient.

Some Naiads can be kind, such as Lena. They are never aware of the future of past, and are instead always looking for amusement. They have no self-awareness. However, when the become mortal, they gain the knowledge of morality. They become more aware of time. They love singing sweet, naiadic tunes.

A Naiad individual was in a bar on Ryn III in 2336, gossiping about Starfleet covert operatives on the planet investigating the Orion Syndicate. When the White Witch conquered Narnia, she placed the entire land under a spell of constant winter, thus freezing all the water. It seems most likely the Naiads spent most of the Age of Winter frozen, unable to do anything, until Aslan freed them. During the Winter Revolution, they were among Aslan's followers at the Stone Table, fighting alongside their fellow Narnians against the White Witch. When the Telmarines conquered Narnia, thus beginning the Telmarine Age of Narnia, the Naiads and the River Gods went into a form of deep sleep. While they slept, the Telmarines built a large bridge over the river, which inadvertently kept the River God, and probably the rest of the Naiads as well, imprisoned. Eventually, they fought against the Telmarines when they were awoken by Aslan to help fight against the Telmarine army, thus beginning the reign of Caspian X.

Transformed into a living wall of water, Naiad swept over the oil rig, sparking the first Elemental war when Firestorm, the Nuclear Man - then Earth's Fire Elemental, flew to the site to investigate. The epic conflict grew to involve the Red Tornado and Swamp Thing (Air and Plant Elementals respectively), before Maya convinced the Earth elementals to leave her human children alone. Naiad rained destructively down on Shogun oil once more, but was stopped by the Spectre and Superman. Naiad then battled Corona, Earth's newest Fire Elemental before Aquaman convinced the forces of nature to make peace with one another.
