He gained popularity after releasing Hopes And Dreams and Making his debut Performance at Southridge High School, a mixtape which that featured, Due Justice and Josiah Carpenter. Leon Willis shocked teens of Beaverton when putting out he will quit because he wasn't getting the regonition he want shortly after his appearance at the His School. Although Didnt quit he put twice as much work into music and school. In 2012 he was a featured in his first Interview with Alex Potter. Leon willis now releasing his third mixtape " K.I.D.S Of The Future" on August 29, 2012. The first single, Bring It Back Freestyle, was released june 28. The second single is called I Could Be Yours July 16, 2012 . July 4, 2012 Leon Willis went to Portland's Waterfront and shocked citizens Young, and Old with his poetic verses and earned a band over five hundred dollars. Leon Willis quoted " when I seen the band hustling for money I ask them did they need help. They turn me down and I watch them play for five minutes then I went up to the drummer and rap him 16 bars. At the begin he was hesitant but heard deeper into my rap then he stopped drumming and told the guitarist to give me the microphone to let me spit a verse. They kicked me a pretty good beat and I started rapping, before I knew it people where stopping to listen and 10 people turn into 100 and shortly after 300 then 600 and was a really amazing felling to just be apart a public event" a few days later Leon gained more popularity and was told by multiple people he did something no one his age has ever done before. Leon Willis is still going cause he's only 16 but here's a piece of his life he wrote. If you guys dont know there's a rapper name 50 cent-Curtis Jackson and he's basically my inspiration. I remember being really young and my mom listened to biggie smalls and as young as was which was about 2 or 3 I mumbled the words and from then on I listen to whatever my mom listened to which was Usher, Nelly, R Kelly, and so on. I listened to all types of music also so I remember groups like the backstreet boyz and Justin Timberlake's old music. When I turned about 6 I became really fluent with rapping 50 cent songs cause that's all my big brother had was 50 cents music. I couldn't write that good because i was still really young and stupid. I never went to school because I purposely got suspended as a 2nd grader. I know its shocking but it's true. When I got better at writing and got in line which was in 3rd grade I started writing raps and free-styling. From 3rd grade to 5th, when I moved to Oregon i started going to a studio with my older cousin. Just watching how amazing he was at rapping I remember telling myself I'd be as good as him one day and maybe even better. After observing my older cousin's singing and rapping I got inspired to sing so about time 6th grade came around I listened to Chris brown every night from 6th grade to 7th grade and as usual how I started singing was in the shower. At the begin in 7th grade when I went to Highland Park Middle School I missed my bus and I heard Justin Bieber one time and after hearing the voice I got so much more inspired so I started singing more and I notice I wasn't getting better so towards the begin of 8th grade so I continued rapping, rapping wasn't really a challenge for me cause I was already good at it. When I decide I wanted to rap I remember trying to make a song it didn't turn out good but I still finished it and me a friend listen to it, it was pretty bad and at the very second it ended my friend turned around and said you will never produce a song for me again and we both laughed because I did produce it and it wasn't great. That summer I work on Never-Hide with other artist much older than me and we finished it by October of my freshman year. After getting started I met new people that seen my work from my first mix-tape like photographers, managers, promoters, loaners, producers and studios. All of these guys I met where cool but still not the type of people that wanted to work for me and every since I been learning how to do it all by myself and I'm still learning! So stick with me and watch my rise because I got a lot of opportunities lined up. dont forget to download "HOPES ANDS DREAMS"
