  • The 2003 O'Reilly 300 was a Busch Series event held at Texas Motor Speedway on March 29, 2003. Brian Vickers had the race all but won, leading some 87 laps. However, a controversial penalty, in which Vickers passed a car on the restart cost him the race. Vickers claimed he was trying to avoid an accident, but NASCAR forced him to pit road. Then, just ten laps later half of the field was involved in a turn one pileup, including Vickers. The winner? Joe Nemechek, who held off Scott Riggs for the win. Stats
