In 2265, it affected sensitive equipment in its path such as computer interfaces, sensor arrays and communication networks aboard Starfleet Starbase 47-Vanguard, the USS Lovell and the Orion merchant ship Omari-Ekon. They likened it to a warning beacon or hail.
