  • Lylecity is Georgeland's tenth-largest city, with a population of 285,054 in 2002. Lylecity sits on the Bay of Lyle, named for navigator George Lyle. The city was founded in 1803 but an earlier settlement on the site existed from c. 1780. That settlement, founded by social theorist James Garr, was an early, pre-Marxist experiment in collective ownership. Lylecity is a cultural hub and a middle-class, affluent city. Due to its location on the Bay, it also has a strongly maritime culture. The city also has a substantial LGBT population. The city is part of the state of East Mainland. It is located on the far western edge of that state, only 11 km from the border with West Mainland.
