  • The War of Tears was one of the most devastating conflicts in the history of the galaxy. It was fought approximately one-thousand years after the Great Galactic War and claimed more lives than the Great Sith War and the Jedi Civil War combined. The decisive confrontation came when the Anti-Republic Coalition attacked the Republic border world of Shola. The Republic was forced onto the defensive as their enemies arrayed against them. • The War of Tears was one of the most devastating conflicts in the history of the galaxy. It was fought approximately one-thousand years after the Great Galactic War and claimed more lives than the Great Sith War and the Jedi Civil War combined. The conflict traced its origins to the aftermath of the Cold War when the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic used the uneasy truce between the two superpowers to grow. Both powers built up their militaries and restored their people's confidence in their leaders and armies. Because the Galactic Republic was still attempting to rebuild after the events of the Great Galactic War, the Sith Empire was handed the initiative. The Dark Council forged alliances with the Mandalorians, with the Chiss Ascendancy and with the Hutt Cartel and the new coalition prepared for war. The decisive confrontation came when the Anti-Republic Coalition attacked the Republic border world of Shola. The Republic was forced onto the defensive as their enemies arrayed against them. The Republic soon pushed back, however, by sending a force to the Sith world of Korriban, which was subsequently captured by the Republic. The conflict continued until each member of the Anti-Republic Coalition had been subjugated. The Sith retreated back into the Unknown Regions, the Mandalorians scattered throughout the galaxy and the Hutts returned to crime rather than war.
