  • Edward Charles Cobb (4 September 1891 – 14 May 1957) was an army officer and politician. Born in the Falkland Islands, Cobb was commissioned as an officer in the Northamptonshire Regiment in 1911. He served during the First World War and was awarded the Distinguished Service Order in 1916. He retired from the army in 1924 with the rank of captain. In 1925 he was elected to the London County Council as a Municipal Reform Party councillor representing Islington East. He stood down from the county council at the 1934 elections.

He served during the First World War and was awarded the Distinguished Service Order in 1916. He retired from the army in 1924 with the rank of captain. In 1925 he was elected to the London County Council as a Municipal Reform Party councillor representing Islington East. He stood down from the county council at the 1934 elections. In 1936 he was elected to the House of Commons at a by-election as Conservative Party member of parliament for Preston in Lancashire. Due to the Second World War there was no general election until 1945, when Cobb stood at Eton and Slough, but was defeated by his Labour Party opponent. He stood there again at the 1950 general election but was again unsuccessful.
