Formerly classified as a "chronic unlicensed private vehicle procurer" (car thief in English) on his home planet of Nebulos, Hotwire was caught by the authorities once too often. His life took a turn for the better when the brilliant Nebulan scientist Hi-Q gave him a chance to straighten his life out by working at the Hi-Q Industrial Research Complex. Hotwire is a member of Global Defense Initiative's elite group the Dead 6 serving as their heavy technical and demolitions expert. Before joining GDI she was a member of the Israeli Mossad. Increases all your damages and changes the Earth Branch to be Fire-elemental. HOTWIRE follows in the footsteps of his ancestors, all brilliant but eccentric scientists who ended up siding with the villains of any global conflict, usually because it was the only way they could work without the hindrance of morality or legality. HOTWIRE initially wanted to break that cycle, and traveled to America to be schooled legitimately at MIT. He later made great strides in their Robotics & Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, but was thrown out when his research involved studying the adverse effects of various mechanical appendages on human victims. This rejection drove him straight into the welcoming arms of Cobra, where he was encouraged to let his deranged mind run wild, optimizing their army of robotic soldiers, the BATs (Battle Android Troopers). He somehow sees himself as Hotwiring allows the player to undo electronic locks and access areas that are unique to the Fergus timeline, or take specific shortcuts in certain levels. In the Eisenwald Prison mission, hotwiring a panel in the prison control room can be used to disable a number of automated sentry guns in the level. Health Upgrades are usually located in areas accessed via hotwiring. Several levels contain easily recognizeable strongboxes with electronic locks, which contain some ammo and a Health Upgrade. Hotwire is a gamemode featured in Battlefield Hardline. The objective of the Criminals is to steal five marked vehicles and drive them across the map in order to obtain points. Law Enforcement on the other hand must either stop the criminals or procure the marked vehicles themselves and keep them in control until time or tickets run out.

Biomechanically engineered to have the ability to transform and function as Joyride's engine, the talented mechanic also takes care of much of his Powermaster partner's maintenance and repair needs, which is handy given Joyride driving style... The old Hotwire had a lot in common with thrill-seeking Joyride, and the similarity has not escaped the Nebulan. Much like Hi-Q saw the good in him, Hotwire strives to temper some Joyride's excesses and make him a better bot. He grudgingly accepts that Joyride tends to ignore much of his efforts, but he has to believe that if he turned out to alright then everybody has a chance to make good. HOTWIRE has been taking older BAT Mark 1 units and redesigning them to function as assembly line droids. Always paranoid, he holds a master control switch that, at the slightest sign of trouble, converts the workers back into deadly warriors at his command. Unknown to his cohorts, he has also built a giant armored BAT Mech suit, in case he loses control of his robots and needs to escape. Hotwire is a gamemode featured in Battlefield Hardline. Marked vehicles have a bright orange paint color scheme, with the exception of the Fuel Tanker. They function in the exact same manner as their unmarked counterparts, but does not feature Battle Pickups, Countermeasures or other upgrades. They are, however, affected by the Stunt Driver upgrade. Hotwire is a great way to obtain large sums in money in short periods of time due to the amount of experience earned while driving marked vehicles. Avoiding death or damage to a marked vehicle and driving them as fast as possible is crucial as it is extremely common for enemy players to plant explosives or launch shouldered-fired missiles at vehicles. Vehicle can be damaged from any sort of gun fire, making a Repair Tool ideal. Sabotage, Laser Tripmines or Breaching Charges can be useful for destroying vehicles as soon as an enemy enters them, while RPG-7, SMAW or Grenade Launchers are useful against vehicles on the move. Heavy weapons like Battle Rifles and Shotguns can also be highly effective.
