James Tiberius Kirk is one of the most legendary commanding officers of Terran Imperial history. During his tenure as Captain of Imperial Sato-class warship ISS Enterprise his tactical skills and use of sheer brutal force expanded Imperial territory all the way to the very edges of the Gamma Quadrant and added enslaved and occupied species of the empire to well over 200 races. The mirror universe version of James Tiberius Kirk served the Terran Empire as the Starfleet captain of the ISS Enterprise during the 2260s. Kirk rose to power by assassinating Enterprise captain Christopher Pike and subsequently carrying out various brutal acts of violence against his and the Empire's enemies, like executing thousands of colonists at Vega IX. He also stole the Tantalus field, a weapon capable of vaporizing enemies from distance, which he used to help his rise to power. During this time, Marlena Moreau, a sciences division lieutenant, was his "woman". In 2267, mirror Kirk and his "normal" universe counterpart were swapped in a transporter accident, so unique that the duo, when rematerialized, even wore their counterparts' uniform. Spock, the Enterprise's first officer, discovered Kirk was in fact a duplicate and imprisoned him to return him to the correct universe. (TOS: "Mirror, Mirror") Upon traveling to the mirror universe in 2370, Deep Space 9 personnel Kira Nerys and Julian Bashir discovered the mirror Kirk had been overthrown by the mirror Spock, who had gained control of Kirk's Tantalus field and persuaded Kirk's woman Moreau to help him change the Empire for the better. (DS9: "Crossover") In the mirror universe, James T. Kirk (2233-2267) was a Terran officer in the Imperial Starfleet who commanded the ISS Enterprise in the 2260s. In 2267, Kirk became one of the first to crossover into the primary universe, an event which would serve as a crossroads for the future of the mirror universe. In the mirror universe, James Tiberius Kirk was a Terran officer in the Imperial Starfleet who was the captain of the ISS Enterprise in the 2260s. Kirk assumed command of the ISS Enterprise by assassinating Captain Christopher Pike. Captain Kirk's first action was the suppression of a Gorlan uprising through the destruction of a rebel home planet. His second action was the execution of 5,000 colonists on Vega IX. Kirk's rise to power was very much due to his posession of the Tantalus field, a device he stole from an alien scientist, that allowed Kirk to vaporize uncooperative enemies remotely, without evidence. However, Kirk also had a personal security squad as bodyguards, led by Mr. Farrell. His woman in the late 2260s was Marlena Moreau, a lieutenant assigned to the sciences division. In 2267 he visited the home-planet of the Halkans. The Empire had noted their homeworlds vast dilithium reserves and threatened to destroy them if they did not comply. When Kirk's landing party attempted to beam up from the Halkan planet, an ion storm transported them into the primary universe. They were aboard the USS Enterprise. The primary universe Spock recognized the savage nature of the landing party members and ordered them placed in the brig, where they remained until they were able to return to the mirror universe. When Captain Kirk and the landing party returned to the mirror universe, Spock tried to convince Kirk not to exterminate the Halkans. Spock argued that the destruction of the Halkan planet would only hinder the Empire's efforts to mine dilithium, only to be ignored by a vengeful Kirk. Spurred by the words of the primary universe Kirk and by what he had seen from his mind-meld with the primary universe Dr. McCoy, Spock strangled Captain Kirk to death in his own quarters and assumed command of the ISS Enterprise! Kirk's corpse was disposed of with the Tantalus field and many of his confederates (including Security Chief Hikaru Sulu) were eliminated.
