Emerald Cove era famosa in tutto l'UNSC come una colonia di sublime bellezza. Migliaia di chilometri di sabbie candide, oceani azzurri e splendidi coloni rendevano piacevole ogni viaggio. Persino gli Spartan-II trovavano godibile il loro soggiorno in quel luogo, durante una missione di addestramento; quando il Sottoufficiale Capo Franklin Mendez sabotò la metà delle loro bombole d'ossigeno, gli SPARTAN rubarono la sua e si rifugiarono in un isola deserta. There is no information on whether or not there was any combat in the abandonment and/or evacuation.
