Seltin Rakal
rdfs:comment
Seltin Rakal was a female inhabitant of Meridian in the Trialus star system in the Gamma Quadrant. Rakal spends sixty years in a non-corporeal state with the rest of her people when Meridian is shifted into another dimension by a phenomenon caused by the Trialus star. Seltin Rakal was the leader of the inhabitants of Meridian. Like the rest of her people, she existed in a non-corporeal state for sixty years at a time. She was the descendant of an expedition which became stranded on the planet a millennia ago. In 2371, she welcomed Dax, Benjamin Sisko, Julian Bashir, and Miles O'Brien to the First Meal. Later, while she disapproved of Deral's decision to leave the planet to be with Jadzia Dax, she then welcomed Dax when the Trill chose to stay with the Meridians instead. (DS9: "Meridian") Seltin Rakal was played by Christine Healy.

n13:abstract
Seltin Rakal was a female inhabitant of Meridian in the Trialus star system in the Gamma Quadrant. Rakal spends sixty years in a non-corporeal state with the rest of her people when Meridian is shifted into another dimension by a phenomenon caused by the Trialus star. In 2371, when Meridian was shifted back into the regular universe and the crew of the USS Defiant made first contact with the inhabitants, Rakal invited the senior staff to dine with them at the First Meal. Later, Rakal had concerns when Deral started a relationship with Jadzia Dax, but welcomed Jadzia when she decided to remain on Meridian. (DS9 episode: "Meridian", ST reference: Celebrations) Seltin Rakal was the leader of the inhabitants of Meridian.
