Juju is a short story, which was published by Titan Magazines in Stargate SG-1/Atlantis The Official Magazine 13. Juju is a crude but effective science practiced by witch doctors. It gives the ability to twist and turn nature. Juju is Mama Odie's pet snake from Disney's 2009 film The Princess and the Frog. Juju is a term used by Humans of West African and French colonial origin to describe a certain type of luck or inspiration, sometimes attributed to qualities of witchcraft. When Starfleet Ensign Travis Mayweather was assigned to the United Earth starship Yorktown in the 2150s decade, during the Earth-Romulan War, he felt like he was perceived as bad luck, or "bad juju", by the crew of that vessel. He felt that the crews of other Daedalus-class vessels felt the same way, since Mayweather had been the helmsman on duty when the Daedalus-class Discovery had been lost at Berengaria. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing) Lieutenant Francis Drake Reed, of colonial islander origin, was fond of using this term in describing activities. He referred to his juju as luck in playing pool in the year 2243, while hustling a group of traders and miscreants on Starbase 2, saying that his opponents would need warp drive-powered pool cues to keep up with his juju. He used the term again when advising George Kirk about the luck that would be required to defeat a group of Romulan birds-of-prey that were facing down the prototype Constitution-class ship they were traveling aboard. (TOS novel: Final Frontier) Juju is a large stone totem pole found in the middle of the village in Mumbo's Mountain. Juju spins around and asks to be fed "blue stones" (eggs) that Banjo and Kazooie can provide by firing an egg into each segment's gaping mouth. Once a segment has been fed, it will vanish and the rest of the stack will drop down one and spin faster. Once all four segments have been fed and disappear, a Jiggy will appear where Juju once stood. Juju will reappear when Banjo and Kazooie leave the world and can be given more eggs, but the Jiggy can only be obtained once. There is an Extra Honeycomb Piece which occupies the same space as one of Juju's segments. It can be reached by firing eggs into all but the last segment, then using the Flap Flip to jump on top of it to retrieve it. Juju is a totem pole with many faces, belonging to Mumbo Jumbo in Banjo-Kazooie. He is found in Mumbo's Mountain in front of Mumbo's Hut. When Banjo and Kazooie meet him, he claims he is hungry, so Kazooie fires a Blue Egg into each of Juju's faces. After all his faces were fed, he rewarded the pair with a Jiggy. The incident led to Taki feeling guilt for being unable to stop the demon, so she took Natsu as her apperentice to atone for her failure. Should there ever appear to be two copies of one juju, one of the "copies" is either an illusion or an error that will eventually be erased from existence, or more commonly, is destined to end up becoming the other version at some later time. According to Caliborn, a juju always has an owner, and one can only take someone's juju if the original owner is killed or willingly gives it away. During the course of the Midnight Crew Intermission, many jujus possessing varying levels of control over time had been used by members of the Felt. The Midnight Crew used a few of these items as they fought the Felt, many of which have resurfaced as memories within the dream bubbles occupied by the pre-scratch trolls for unknown reasons. These traits are similar to the traits of objects in a bootstrap paradox, where an object travels through time from the future, to the past, thereby creating itself in an eternal cycle. Because the item is always becoming itself, it has no true or "traceable origin". This would also explain why a juju cannot be destroyed, because destroying it at any point in time would result in the juju not being able to exist in the first place so that it could be destroyed, creating a grandfather paradox, an unstable loop that would result in a doomed timeline. But the abilities of juju breakers also disputes this somewhat.
