Doctor Huilan Sen'kara was a male S'ti'ach officer who served as a counselor in Starfleet in the late 24th century. In 2379, Huilan was assigned to the USS Titan as an assistant counselor working under Deanna Troi. (TTN novel: Taking Wing) As Huilan was a carnivore, he along with some of the other Titan crewmembers of predatory species - Dr. Shenti Yisec Eres Ree, the Caitian Lieutenant Rriarr, the Betelgeusian Ensign Kuu'iut, and the Chelon biologist Kekil - began to eat together in the mess hall. Because many of the other crewmembers found their eating habits disgusting, Huilan devised a plan so that the carnivores would eat together in a "predators feeding" ritual during the quietest hours of the night shift. (TTN novel: Orion's Hounds) By 2381, Huilan held the rank of Lieutenant. During that year, Dr Huilan attempted to offer emotional aid to Christine Vale after the death of her former lover Jaza Najem at Orisha; however, Vale was unwilling to face her feelings, and Huilan remarked that she was "unwilling to commit to therapy." (ST - Destiny novel: Gods of Night) Later, Sen'kara became concerned over the construction and use of a holotank chief engineer Xin Ra-Havreii build for chief science officer Melora Pazlar. Pazlar began to spend all of her time within the tank, leading Huilan to suspect she was using it to isolate herself physically and emotionally from the crew. At one point, he spoke with Pazlar inside the holotank, after she mistook it for her quarters. He later confronted Ra-Havreii, and asked him to shut down and dismantle the holographic environment. Huilan told the engineer that he suspected Xin's own personal emotional needs for isolation were being projected onto Pazlar, even if Ra-Havreii thought it was the solution for Melora.
