| - Booker is a chick from U.S. Acres named by Orson for the pig's love of books. (Booker's comment to Orson about his name: "I'm just glad you don't love kumquats!" (May 23, 1986) His and Sheldon's mom says that she was tired of hatching eggs and needed a vacation. (May 6,1986) Booker and Sheldon were still eggs when Orson found them abandoned and decided to hatch them. Nobody in the barnyard knows what happened to their parents.

He is one of few characters meant to be an actual breed. His name refers to "booking" someone, which means "to arrest". He appears nervous and unsure of himself when talking to the player, hesitating to speak using words like "Um..." which contrasts with Copper's personality and bravery. At one point he may tell the player that this is because English is not his first language and he feels he isn't very good at it, all before quickly apologizing and clamming up. He works (with Copper) twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week taking no breaks, unlike other service characters in the game.
