- Kimchi, also spelled gimchi, kimchee, or kim chee, is any one of numerous traditional Korean pickled dishes made of vegetables with varied seasonings. A common manifestation is the spicy baechu (chard) variety. Kimchi is the most common banchan, or side dish, in South Korea and many South Korean communities and locales. Kimchi is also a common ingredient and combined with other ingredients to make dishes such as kimchi stew (kimchi jjigae) and kimchi fried rice (kimchi bokkeumbap). Kimchi is so ubiquitous that the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) developed space kimchi to accompany the first Korean astronaut to the Russian-manned space ship Soyuz.
- Kimchi is a level 3 trade good.
- Korean pickle. See Wikipedia:kimchi.
- Kimchi is a crafting good for the Tea Garden in FarmVille's Jade Falls (farm). It requires 1 Jade Peanut Bushel, 2 Wasabi Bushels and 1 Cabbage Bushel.
- Kimchi is a traditional fermented cabbage dish from Korea. There are many variations on kimchi - most are spicy, some are not, most have cabbage, some have other vegetables, some even have fruit! There are even different kimchis for different times of the year, as the time required for the fermentation process varies so much with the ambient temperature. Some good links to get you started:
- Kimchi is Chowder's pet fart cloud. Kimchi is usually in his cage in Chowder's room. He is seen in many episodes and is told to leave because of his smell. Before he met Chowder, he lived in a alligator's stomach (that everyone kept calling a crocodile). The only way Kimchi can communicate is by "fart" sounds.
- Kimchi is Chowder's pet and is a fart. No one likes going near him but Chowder doesn't mind his smell. He is played by C.H. Greenblatt. Kimchi is in love with a Clabbage Cobbler. In The Garage Sale, Chowder says that Kimchi pees in his cage if he's gone for a long time.
- Kimchi is the son of Konan and Deidara as well as the eldest brother to Guya, Kurie, and Kira. Unlike Kurie, Kimchi did not inherit Konan or Deidara's Kekkei Genkai. Rather, Kimchi is able to perform any jutsu, not burdened by the need of a Kekkei Genkai, at maximum level. After the Great Shinobi War, Kimchi took over the Akatsuki and began making the necessary preparations to turn the organization into a well mannered village. Shortly, after taking over the organization Kimchi dies from an aneurism in the midst of a battle with a random body; thus resulting in an aneurism.
- Early forms of kimchi consisted mainly of salted greens. Chile peppers, now a standard ingredient in kimchi, were unknown in Korea until the early 17th century, when they were introduced from Japan or , where they had been introduced by western traders. Traditionally, kimchi was fermented in pots buried in the ground, to serve as a winter subsistence staple when fresh were not available.
