Brian Griffin is a fictional character from the animated television series Family Guy, and is voiced by show creator Seth MacFarlane. He is an anthropomorphic white Beagle who stands bipedally (although in early episodes he is often depicted sitting on all fours). MacFarlane uses his normal speaking voice for Brian, as opposed to the vocal modifications he makes when voicing other characters in the show such as Peter, Stewie, and Quagmire. In the Larry shorts, Seth MacFarlane provided the same voice as Brian for a dog named Steve, who had a similar personality. In the 1000th issue of Entertainment Weekly, Brian Griffin was selected as the Dog for "The Perfect TV Family."

  • Brian H. Griffin (born June 30 1985) is a 27-year old talking white Labrador who has lived with the Griffin family since Peter picked him up as a stray. He also possesses various anthropomorphic qualities, such as the ability to speak intelligently, drive a car, and walk bipedally. In "Brian Goes Back to College", it is revealed that Brian went to Brown University in Rhode Island, but did not graduate.

  • Brian Griffin is the tritagonist in Family Guy. He is the Griffin family's pet dog and one of their best friends. In "Life of Brian," he dies after being struck by a car. However, two episodes later, in "Christmas Guy", Stewie soon saw his past time traveling self and was able to steal his return pad and transport back to the point where Brian was killed. Before the car could hit Brian, Stewie pushed him out of the way and saved his life.

In "BFFs", Brian and Stewie distract Cleveland off-screen as they are still inside their house, while Peter sneaks to his car, not wanting to speak to Cleveland. Cleveland and Cleveland Brown Jr. mention what a douchebag Brian is over his atheism in "The Hurricane". Roberta also plays with marionettes of Brian and Stewie Griffin. One of the dogs Junior and Rallo catch in "Hustle 'N' Bros." resembles Brian although the dog tells them that they are not the same.
  • Brian was a young but super intelligent young dog but for some reason, no one liked him. They kept saying mean things, like he'll never accomplish his dreams and garbage like that. However, Brain was hiding something no one had thought of... He was amazing at poetry. So good, that it made Weegee cry. Yeah, you heard that right? Anywho, the bullying days were done as he progressed into being a BAD-@$$! He was so dang cool that C3 looked up to him.

  • “Only because our fans are smart enough and have been loyal to our show for long enough, to know that they can trust us, we always make choices that always work to the greatest benefit of the series.” -Steve Callaghan drastically overestimating the general intelligence of the fans. On November 24, 2013, the Family Guy writers gained some sense and killed him off in the most predictable and sloppy way possible. After a half assed attempt at being emotional, the Griffins found another dog named Vinny who ultimately became the show's first likeable character since the Evil Monkey.
