He co-created the characters of Colossus, Nightcrawler, Storm, Thunderbird, and Wolverine. As a teenager, Wein became friends with fellow future Star Trek comic book author Marv Wolfman. [1]

He is perhaps best known for co-creating Swamp Thing for DC Comics, and for writing Giant-Size X-Men #1 for Marvel Comics - in which he co-created some of the X-Men's most popular characters, including Storm, Colossus, and Nightcrawler. He is also, of course, most famously known as the creator of the razor-clawed X-Man Wolverine.

  • Len Wein was born on June 12th, 1948 in New York City. A renowned comic book writer and editor, he is best known for co-creating DC Comics' "Swamp Thing" and Marvel Comics' character 'Wolverine', and for helping revive the Marvel superhero team the "X-Men".
