- Viserion is one of the dragons born in the Dothraki Sea, along with Drogon and Rhaegal. He is named after Daenerys Targaryen's brother, Viserys. He is distinguishable by his cream and gold colored scales, and red-orange wings.
- Viserion is named for Daenerys's brother Viserys, also called the Beggar King. Daenerys named him this to give Viserys the honor in death that he never possessed in life, as he was cruel and abusive, but still a Targaryen. One can also assume most of it has a great deal to do with his color, white and cream, the color of Viserys's hair and skin, although it is common in the Valyrian coloring of the Targaryens.

Drogon was named after Daenerys Targaryen's late brother Viserys Targaryen. Viserion hatched from one of three eggs that had been presented to Daenerys at her wedding to Drogo during her husband's funeral. He along with his brothers Drogon and Rhaegal imprinted on Daenerys as their mother. Viserion had cream and gold colored scales and red-orange wings. When first hatched Viserion was about the size of a house cat but like his brothers grew to be quite large.
