On the Olympus, Admiral Dane was preparing to send the Bounty Hunters Samus Aran, Rundas, Ghor, and Gandrayda to such locations to completely eradicate the virus, but his briefing was halted when Space Pirates attacked the flagship. Samus was later able to cure Unit 217, who then helped her on her mission. It is assumed that the virus was purged from the remaining Aurora Units with the death of Phaaze, which ended the existence of all Phazon, including the virus. The name "corruption virus" was used by 242 when she briefed Samus on her mission to Elysia.
