The Vincennes class command cruisers were a type of United Federation of Planets starship on active duty in Starfleet during at least the late 23rd and early 24th centuries. (Task Force Games: Star Fleet Battles: The X-Ships; Task Force Games: UFP: The Federation Sourcebook for Prime Directive) The names and registries of some of these vessels are identical to those of Australia-class battlecruisers seen in earlier editions of Star Fleet Battles. It is uncertain if the class name change is due to technological upgrades or an alternate continuity.
