While stuck in Lincoln, Miller gravitated to the university campus, both for its own sake and because he had a slight acquaintanceship with some of the facility and their grad students from various conferences. Marcus Wilson, one such student, took him to a local museum which had artifacts from the Ashfall State Historical Park. These were the fossil remains of various animals from a supervolcano eruption 12,000,000 years ago.
