They attempted to prevent just those abuses of power resentment of which had begun the revolt. As well, those provisions attempted to protect the individual as against the interests of the government. Its approach was influential, though honored too often in the breach, throughout the world over the next few hundred years.
  • Britain's American colonies broke with the mother country in 1776 and were recognized as the new nation of the United States of America following the Treaty of Paris in 1783. During the 19th and 20th centuries, 37 new states were added to the original 13 as the nation expanded across the North American continent and acquired a number of overseas possessions. The two most traumatic experiences in the nation's history were the Civil War (1861-65), in which a northern Union of states defeated a secessionist Confederacy of 11 southern slave states, and the Great Depression of the 1930s, an economic downturn during which about a quarter of the labor force lost its jobs. Buoyed by victories in World Wars I and II and the end of the Cold War in 1991, the US remains the world's most powerful natio

  • Basic Information here.
  • The United States of America (commonly referred to as the United States, the U.S., the USA, or America) is a federal constitutional republic comprising fifty states and a federal district. The country is situated mostly in central North America, where its forty-eight contiguous states and Washington, D.C., the capital district, lie between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, bordered by Canada to the north and Mexico to the south. The state of Alaska is in the northwest of the continent, with Canada to its east and Russia to the west across the Bering Strait. The state of Hawaii is an archipelago in the mid-Pacific. The country also possesses several territories, or insular areas, scattered around the Caribbean and Pacific. At 3.79 million square miles (9.83 million km²) and with about 305 million people, the United States is the third or fourth largest country by total area, and third largest by land area and by population. The United States is one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many countries. The U.S. economy is the largest national economy in the world, with an estimated 2008 gross domestic product (GDP) of US$14.3 trillion (23% of the world total based on nominal GDP and almost 21% at purchasing power parity). The nation was founded by thirteen colonies of Great Britain located along the Atlantic seaboard. On July 4, 1776, they issued the Declaration of Independence, which proclaimed their independence from Great Britain and their formation of a cooperative union. The rebellious states defeated Great Britain in the American Revolutionary War, the first successful colonial war of independence. A federal convention adopted the current United States Constitution on September 17, 1787; its ratification the following year made the states part of a single republic with a strong central government. The Bill of Rights, comprising ten constitutional amendments guaranteeing many fundamental civil rights and freedoms, was ratified in 1791. In the 19th century, the United States acquired land from France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and Russia, and annexed the Republic of Texas and the Republic of Hawaii. Disputes between the agrarian South and industrial North over states' rights and the expansion of the institution of slavery provoked the American Civil War of the 1860s. The North's victory prevented a permanent split of the country and led to the end of legal slavery in the United States. By the 1870s, the national economy was the world's largest. The Spanish–American War and World War I confirmed the country's status as a military power. In 1945, the United States emerged from World War II as the first country with nuclear weapons, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, and a founding member of NATO. The end of the Cold War left the United States as the sole superpower. The country accounts for approximately 50% of global military spending and is a leading economic, political, and cultural force in the world.

United States heavy cruisers are considered to lack range compared to those of other nations, and its early-to-mid game battleships, the Nevada class, Alaska class, and New Mexico class, are generally considered to be inferior to their counterparts in other navies due to their lack of range. However, its later battleships, the Iowa and Montana classes, are very competitive, and have among the heaviest broadsides in the game. Post Open NavyField patching, US BB2s such as Colorado, and Tennessee 1945, are generally considered the best BB2s. These buffed ships have decent range, excellent firepower, and a higher speed. USN large-caliber naval guns also have a high maximum angle (yet not as high as IJN variants), giving USN shells a similar hangtime advantage.

  • The United States is one of the Allied factions in Company of Heroes. Their massive war machine fuels the invasion of Nazi-Occupied Europe, bringing with it enough fresh manpower and firepower to relieve the Wehrmacht of its earlier conquests. American soldiers may not be the most experienced, but they are highly motivated and outnumber their enemy and enjoy the virtually endless supply of equipment, weapons and assets brought over the massive convoys traveling daily across the Atlantic Ocean. American soldiers also learn quickly, as they have the most potent veterancy bonuses in the game. The potent veterancy upgrades as well as actual equipment upgrades makes American infantry versatile, and superior to Axis variants in the late game. The Americans field a rather limited variety of units, but nonetheless have at least one unit for any battlefield role. Thanks to their large number of fresh conscripts, American Infantry units are extremely cheap and easy to replace, thus forming the back-bone for their entire army. American Vehicles, though expensive, keep a very good balance between offensive firepower, mobility, and protection. Overall, this faction combines good defense with good offense, concentrating on whichever is most important at the time. Of course this also means that they excel at neither option, but rather strive to find the right balance between them. Their Command Trees also refrain from putting too much emphasis on either of these options, resulting in a faction that can easily adapt to the changing situation on the battlefield. In their single-player campaign, we follow the American army's Invasion of Normandy, as it struggles to establish a beach-head and later break out into the French mainland. Different American companies are portrayed, each assisting the invasion in its own fashion, from the infantrymen assaulting the beaches to the Airborne troops landing behind enemy lines, and finally the Armor Company making their break in-land. Additionally, the American Airborne Divisions play a significant role in Operation Market Garden, the Panzer Elite single-player campaign in Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts.

  • The country was founded in a revolt of colonists from Great Britain, ca 1770 CE. The new country's government and fundamental laws were designed taking into account Enlightenment ideals of the preceding several decades. They attempted to prevent just those abuses of power resentment of which had begun the revolt. As well, those provisions attempted to protect the individual as against the interests of the government. Its approach was influential, though honored too often in the breach, throughout the world over the next few hundred years. Western Europe had, collectively, adopted many of the ideals of the United States by the time the expedition to Manticore was organized, largely from Western Europe and areas of Earth influenced by Western Europe. The core values of the Star Kingdom of Manticore (and of the official Solarian League, for that matter) owed much to the political philosophy tradition exemplified and in many respects pioneered by the United States. Examples include effective freedom of the press though with reduced tolerance for intrusive rudeness in the gathering of news, a largely government free commercial sector, general government protection for minorities, rule of law, personal choice of religion/political positions/profession/residence/mate(s)/sexual orientation/etc, ... Being from Western Europe, the Manticoran settlers were most comfortable with a Parliamentary style of government rather than the United States' model (ie, fixed terms for the executive branch) which predated the rise of political parties and did not cope well with them. Measured by only land area, the United States is third in size behind Russia and China, just ahead of Canada The lowest and highest points in the continental United States are in the state of California, and only about 80 miles apart. At 20,320 feet (6,194 m), Alaska's Mount McKinley is the tallest peak in the country and in North America. Active volcanoes are common throughout Alaska's Alexander and Aleutian Islands, and Hawaii consists of volcanic islands. The supervolcano underlying Yellowstone National Park in the Rockies is the continent's largest volcanic feature.

The United States is one of the world's most ethnically diverse nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many countries. The U.S. economy is the largest national economy in the world, with a nominal 2006 gross domestic product (GDP) of more than US$13 trillion (over 19% of the world total based on purchasing power parity). The nation was founded by thirteen colonies of Great Britain located along the Atlantic seaboard. Proclaiming themselves "states," they issued the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. The rebellious states defeated Britain in the American Revolutionary War, the first successful colonial war of independence. A federal convention adopted the current United States Constitution on September 17, 1787; its ratification the following year made the states part of a single republic. The Bill of Rights, comprising ten constitutional amendments, was ratified in 1791. In the nineteenth century, the United States acquired land from France, Spain, Mexico, and Russia, and annexed the Republic of Texas and the Republic of Hawaii. Disputes between the agrarian South and industrial North over states' rights and the expansion of the institution of slavery provoked the American Civil War of the 1860s. The North's victory prevented a permanent split of the country and led to the end of slavery in the United States. The Spanish-American War and World War I confirmed the nation's status as a military power. In 1945, the United States emerged from World War II as the first country with nuclear weapons, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, and a founding member of NATO. • The United States of America is one of the few independent powers left in the Freedom Fighters world. Initially composed of thirteen British colonies during the regime of the former British Empire and in 1776, the United States gained independence from the British, but in 1861, civil war was declared between the southern confederacy and the 'Union', the true United States of America in the north, but eventually in 1865, the Union was victorious. The States are composed of 50 federated soverignities controlled by senators who meet at congress in the nation's capital, Washington D.C, to Democratically debate and vote for the nation's well being. The country's representative in military might, is the overall unified United States Military. During the World War II, the United States Army helps the Allied Forces to win the war. The United States never counter-attack the USSR by launch an attack against the Soviet Army with the US Army because they don't want to declare the war against the countries who are submit under the control of the USSR. According to the history, the President of the United States is the last President in the world. The others countries are lead by the Supreme President of the USSR.
  • The United States of America (U.S.A.), or simply the United States (U.S.), was a federal republic in North America. It was one of the last surviving economies in the wake of the mid-21st century's global energy crisis, and one of the primary nuclear participants in the Great War. The Enclave was founded by and is descended from remnants of the nation's original government and claim to be the true continuation/successor to the United States. But they are not representative of the national identity as a whole, being an immoral organization created by and exclusively serving the interests of a specific, shadowy element of the original government. Of attempts by more down-to-Earth wastelanders to reestablish the original ideals and values of the United States, the most successful has been the New California Republic.

  • The United States of America is a nation forged in the fires of revolution and rebellion against a British monarch seen as distant, foreign and tyrannical. After the French and Indian Wars, the British government took an entirely unreasonable line: the American colonists should pay taxes to contribute to the navy and army that helped defend them. After all, those colonial fellows enjoyed the benefits of peace, protected by Britain's expensive soldiers and sailors. The colonists had other views. The British responded with political stupidity and military ineptitude. Aided, once they had rebelled, by the French Bourbons (who, for reasons of their own, had every wish to see Britain preoccupied by war and then humiliated by seditious rebels), the Americans faced down Britain. The struggle split countries, cities, towns, even families, but it united the nation. In its wake, the revolution left behind a new kind of nation, a republic where men choose their own destinies, and are not subject to the whims of kings. This spirit of independence is a source of strength: it is an idea worth defending! It is also a source of weakness, for Americans cherish the right to do as they think best. This is not necessarily a good thing in an army. America now has a future of boundless possibilities. A continent stretches away to the West, and no one is entirely sure what is to be found there. The Atlantic swell washes against the eastern seaboard, and beckons American seamen onwards: trade and adventure lie that way too. There may still be scores to settle with the British in Canada, or ambitious nations from Europe to discourage. There is much to do, if this newest and boldest of nations is to survive and prosper.
Buoyed by victories in World Wars I and II and the end of the Cold War in 1991, the US remains the world's most powerful nation state. Over a span of more than five decades, the economy has achieved steady growth, low unemployment and inflation, and rapid advances in technology. See also: History of money and banking in the US

  • The United States of America—also referred to as the United States, the USA, the U.S., America, the States, and (poetically) Columbia—is a democratic federal republic of fifty states located primarily in central North America. The United States has land borders with Canada and Mexico, as well as several territorial water boundaries with Canada, Russia and The Bahamas. It is otherwise bounded by the Pacific Ocean, the Bering Sea, the Arctic Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea. Two of the fifty states, Alaska, an exclave, and Hawaii, an archipelago, are not contiguous with any of the other states. The United States also has a collection of overseas territories and possessions around the world. Each of the 50 states has a high level of local autonomy under the federal system. The country was officially formed with ratification of the Constitution in 1788. Americans (as citizens of the United States call themselves) trace their national origin to the United Colonies of America governed by the Second Continental Congress (1775) and to the Declaration of Independence by the thirteen British colonies in 1776. Since the mid-20th century, the United States has become a dominant global influence in contemporary economic, political, military, scientific, technological and cultural matters.
  • Well, America offers some of the greatest foods in America, and also some of the greatest fastfoods, too. Oh yes, and also some junk food. America was created a few years before the universe was, back in 1979. This era was called the "Era for YO MOMMA PEACE" and was a great concern for people before this moment arrived. They thought the world was going to end, but more importantly, they thought America was going to end. This would be a very bad thing. In the time of need, America was always there for people. It is undetermined to this very day if America is a boy or a girl, but it would be less sissy and more manly if it were a man.

However, it is also the tune to the British song Anacreon In Heaven, which was set to the lyrics by Francis Scott Key when his brother realized they shared the same rhythmic pattern. Americans are represented in many Monty Python sketches. The Pythons usually use a broad American accent, achieved largely by ennunciating the "R" sound towards the end of words. Strangely, Terry Gilliam, the only Python who is actually American, is rarely represented as an American even when the part calls for one.
