Poison can be cured by the Priest spells Latumofis (unpoison) and Madi (full heal), or by using a Latumofis Potion.
  • The venom of the mugato and the alkaloids of the borgia plant were examples of natural poisons. Both were capable of killing an adult humanoid. (TOS: "A Private Little War" , "The Man Trap" ) Artificial poisons included Felodesine chips and Veridium Six. (TNG: "The Defector" , "Reunion" ) On Dimorus, the indigenous rodent creatures used deadly poisoned darts as weapons. (TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before" ) Sevrin died when he ate a poisonous fruit on Eden. (TOS: "The Way to Eden" ) The Kazon-Nistrim used a poisoned ring with a needle to kill people. (VOY: "State of Flux")
  • There are different types of poison, some more effective than others. * Snakes summoned by Orochimaru and others, sometimes are able to secrete venom from their fangs. * Tsunade has been noted by Jiraiya to be the only person capable of poisoning a ninja without them knowing, as she managed to spike his sake with an odourless, colourless poison that left him unable to properly control his chakra. * Kabuto Yakushi has developed a poison which is specifically designed to suppress the Wood Release kekkei genkai. * Aniki, the leader of the Moya Triad, had tried several types of poison against Kakashi, which were to make him hiccup, laugh, and cry uncontrollably until he died from it. * The Three Wandering Ninja used an odourless type of poison powder that slows down the victi
  • Poison can be cured through the following methods: * Green Herb, Green Potion, Panacea, Royal Jelly. * Jam Pancake, Honey Pancake, Mushroom Pancake, Caviar Pancake, and Sour Cream Pancake can remove the effect. * Thief's skill Detoxify can undo the effect. * Having high VIT and LUK will reduce amount of time this ailment affects you, as well as chance of being affected. * Priest's Slow Poison prevents damage taken from Poison but does not cure the reduced DEF effect. It is a very rarely used counter. * Battle Chant initially removes all buffs and status effects from the Paladin who uses it, including Poison. * One of Battle Chant's random effects removes all abnormal status effects from party members, including Poison. * One of Battle Chant's random effects gr

  • Make poison is a tradeskill unique to the rogues class. It envolves mixing various materials in a morter and pistle and, in early everquest, resulted in poison applyed to a rogue's weapon with the apply poison skill. The earliest poison activated on the initial attack but, has since evolved into an item that is activated, like most potions, and provides a combat initated buff that will proc while in combat. Where it was once an under utilized tool used mostly by advanced players it is now an easily purchased item from a vendor and used by most rogues.
  • Spiders and scorpions were used not always just the poison extracted from them, but sometimes it was just as easy to slip a couple of scorpions in the bed of the victim. One of the organic poisons used was made from common fruit. Cyanide was extracted from a variety of sources, such as apple seeds, plum seeds, cherries seeds and many more. It was readily available to the shinobi and was used often. Tomato and rhubarb leaves also held a poison. Eating the leaves cause cardiac problems, ultimately resulting in cardiac arrest.
  • There are two super unique monsters who have shot to fame by the strength of their Poison attacks alone. Poison is the main weapon of the Maiden of Anguish, Andariel and the Sand Maggot Queen, Coldworm the Burrower. The latter's poison has been known to leave even the strongest characters at 1 health and almost always the death of the accompanying Hireling, But is only used when she dies and spills her green blood around her. Andariel uses her poison attacks much more often, and in a variety of ways. She has a poison bolt that travels along a straight line that does heavy damage per second if it strikes, or she could spread an arc-like wave of poison towards the player which does less damage than the previous attack but still is very dangerous. She can also inflict poison damage in her mel
  • Poisons were materials that, when ingested, could cause harm or kill an organism. On the Sense Sphere, a group of humans added the poisonous chemical atropine to the water supply. (TV: The Sensorites) DN6 was a pesticide, developed to end world famine. It was so effective that extensive use would have damaged the world's ecology. (TV: Planet of Giants) The Macra fed upon a poisonous gas and had humans mine it for them. (TV: The Macra Terror) In the far future, a devolved variant of the species fed on the poisonous gases that accumulated underneath the Motorway. (TV: Gridlock)
  • Poisons are substances that may cause potentially lethal disturbances to organisms, usually through chemical reaction, when a sufficient quantity is absorbed by an organism. The fields of medicine and zoology often describe a poison as either a toxin or as a venom: Toxins are poisons produced by organisms in nature, and venoms are toxins that are injected by an animal’s bite or sting. Note that the differentiator between venom and other poisons is the method of delivery.
  • There are different types of poison, some more effective than others: * Tsunade has been noted by Jiraiya to be the only person capable of poisoning a ninja without them knowing, as she managed to spike his sake with an odourless, colourless poison that left him unable to properly control his chakra. * Kabuto Yakushi has developed a poison which is specifically designed to suppress the Wood Release kekkei genkai. * Sasori had developed such a poison that even if a small amount is introduced into the bloodstream, the affected person will die within three days while also being painfully paralysed for the duration. According to Sakura, this poison is refined with heavy metals which gets into the muscles and destroys the cells. The antidote for this poison is extremely complex - so m

  • Poison is a character from the Final Fight and Street Fighter series. She is an orphan from Los Angeles and was part of the original Mad Gear gang which often kept her out of prison. She enjoys fighting as a way to stay in shape. As an enemy only character in the first few games of the series Poison’s move sets are limited to mostly kicks and acrobatic flips. In the later installments where she becomes a playable character and her introduction into the Street Fighter series gave her an assortment of moves for example she is given a whip and is able to perform an attack called the Poison Kiss which stuns opponents. She also has a more pro-wrestling move set. Poison is more memorable for her debates towards her gender. This arose when it came to localize the game to North America and it was due to the objection of male characters hitting a female. In an attempt to avoid the problem the creator claimed that Poison was a male transvestite. Despite this Poison and Roxy were replaced by male characters named Billy and Sid in many North American versions including all Nintendo console releases. "I’ll give you the show of a lifetime!" - Poison
  • A character can be poisoned in a number of ways. The "easiest" way is to set off a Poison Needle trap on a chest. There are monsters in deeper levels of the dungeon that, when they hit a PC, have a chance to poison them. Chests in deeper levels can also have Gas Bomb traps which have a good chance of poisoning every member of the party if they are set off. When a character is poisoned, his hit points diminish gradually until he is cured or leaves the maze. Inside the maze, the poison's effect does NOT wear off after some time like in other RPGs. However, while poisoned, the character can still fight, cast spells, identify items, be healed, and everything else he could otherwise do while OK. Poison can be cured by the Priest spells Latumofis (unpoison) and Madi (full heal), or by using a Latumofis Potion.
  • Equipping this to a character's Ring makes all Physical Attacks have some odds of inflicting Poison.
  • The Poison keyword causes a target to become Poisoned if an attack deals at least 1 File:Heart.png (after the defense roll). Ability text: Poison: If this attack deals at least 1 File:Heart.png (after the defense roll), the target is Poisoned.
  • When a player or monster is poisoned, a number appears with a green hitsplat (File:Poison hitsplat.png), indicating the amount of damage the poison has dealt to their life points. Being afflicted by poison does not disrupt skilling, Home Teleport, or put the player into combat stance, but players cannot rest if they are poisoned. Players will not take damage from poison during cutscenes, but their health still regenerates normally.

  • Poison is a detriment that players and monsters suffer when they are attacked by a poisonous weapon. Many NPCs are able to inflict poison. Players can use poisonous weapons or the smoke set of spells from the Ancient Magicks to cause their target(s) to become poisoned. The maximum damage from this can range from 1 to over 20 depending on the type of poison. When a player or monster is poisoned, a number appears with a green hitsplat (File:Poison hitsplat.png) instead of a red or blue one, indicating the amount of damage the poison has dealt. The player is then damaged by this poison once every 15 seconds unless it is cured or it wears off. Poison wears off over time, decreasing by a value of one for every minute that passes (four strikes). Monsters that can inflict poison may do so regardless of whether or not they inflict any damage, even if protection prayers are used. Player inflicted poison does need to deal damage to apply. The list of poisons in terms of deadliness are as such: * Weak thieving poison by opening some thieving chests: 1,2 * Smoke spells: 2, 4 (Rush/Burst and Blitz/Barrage respectively) * Various weapon poisoning (see below section): 2-6 * Converted venom to poison by drinking any antipoison potion once: 6 * NPC poison: (varies) 6-20. The aggressive Tribesmen of Karamja, for example, have poison starting at 11.
  • A poison is a toxic substance that disrupts the proper functions of the body, often with lethal effects. Poison is used throughout the known world, though is more prevalent in the Free Cities. In the martial society of Westeros poison is regarded with contempt and considered a weapon used only by cravens and women; an exception is Dorne, whose Prince Oberyn Martell was known as the Red Viper for his proclivity for poison. Maesters study poisons at the Citadel.
  • Poison is a negative status effect that lowers the HP of the afflicted by a certain amount each turn it is active, as well as the spell that inflicts the status effect. The amount of HP lost may be absolute, a percental value or depend upon stats of the caster and/or target. Unlike elemental damage-over-time effects, such as Burn, Poison does not belong to any elemental category and instead forms an elemental category of itself. Poison can be resisted and some creatures or races are immune to it, such as Machina or Undead. As a spell, being a negative status effect, but also damage-inflicting, Poison belongs to the schools of Black Magic and Red Magic at the same time. It can hence only be cast by having some degree of skill in both classes, or by spells available to Blue Mages. Many attacks, items or weapons inflict the status as well. Depending on the setting, Poison may also act in a fashion similar to Firewall, counteracting attacks on an actor inflicted with it. If getting hit with a skill or basic attack that is classified as bite, the poison effect is transferred upon the attacker.

  • Poison is a substance that causes damage every combat turn of a player or every second of real-time play outside of combat mode. Poison typically causes less damage than Acid and is usually easier to cure. In Geneforge 4 and Geneforge 5, creatures and characters succumbing to the effects of poison are turned green substantially to show the effect. The other three Geneforge versions do not show this. Poison was given a major update in Geneforge 5 when many creations and spells started having poison attacks, and poison damage was seemingly increased.
  • If a monster is poisonous, it's best you take a Cure Poison. When a poisonous monster attacks you, there is a high chance it could temporarily poison you. Every minute, you are damaged by poison for a temporarily. The only way to stop is to drink a Cure Poison or until it kills you by making your hitpoints go down to zero. Or, you can go to be healed by the doctor.
  • Poison is a video game character in the Final Fight and Street Fighter series of video games. Created by Akira Yasuda for Capcom, Poison first appeared in Final Fight alongside a similar character, Roxy, later appearing in Capcom-produced games, media and merchandise related to the Street Fighter franchise. Poison is infamous because of the uncertainty regarding her gender, as there has been constant debate whether she is technically male or female on several fronts.
  • Poison is a Level Two Quantum power that gives a nova the power to poison or infect a person with a touch.
  • Toxins and toxicity are gameplay elements present in Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. Certain enemies possess toxic, poisonous or venomous attacks: if Kain is harmed by these creatures or drinks their blood, his blood becomes green and begins to deplete much faster than usual. Toxidity was most commonly encountered in Dark Eden - most of the mutants therein possessed poisonous attacks and blood. If Kain has enough blood to wait it out, the poisons will clear away on their own after a short time and his remaining blood will revert to red; otherwise, toxins could only be cured using Anti-toxins. Toxins and poisons are not present as a gameplay element in further games.
The antidote for this poison is extremely complex - so much so that no one in Sunagakure was capable of creating it. * Orochimaru's true form's blood is poisonous, and evaporates upon contact with air, paralysing anyone who breathes it in. Its potency is such that even Sasuke Uchiha, who has gained an immunity to most poison, was affected. * One of the poisons taught to Sakura by Shizune is able to be entrenched in kunai and has a delayed effect, as Naruto was cut with it but collapsed some time afterwards. * Sakura also uses smoke bombs that contain a strong knock-out gas that can even render ninja like Sai, Lee, and Kiba unconscious in moments. * Hanzō, in his youth, transplanted the poison sac of a black salamander in his village. He was able to poison the environment just from breathing. He also imbued his kusarigama's blade with poison. * Ino Yamanaka has been shown to at least have knowledge of poisonous plants seen early when she threw poisonous plants into Ami's mouth. She also makes heavy use of wolf's bane in the video games. There are animal which can produce different types of poisons: * Snakes summoned by Orochimaru, sometimes are able to secrete venom from their fangs. * Ibuse can release a large amount of Poison Mist that almost instantly paralyses anyone that breathes it in. There are also several species of insects that use poison in their attacks. While other insects, such as the kikaichū, can be cultivated for the purpose of neutralising poisons and toxins used on the bug-user's allies: * Rinkaichū - Torune Aburame and Shikuro Aburame can subsequently infect the opponent with these bugs, causing an excruciatingly painful and likely fatal injury, unless the afflicted area is swiftly removed. However, there is in fact an antidote, but only Shikuro Aburame knows how to make such an antidote.

Her horns are more devilish than most Pixies and curve upward instead of outward. It is exclusive to Monster Rancher 2. Poison is the second of Durahan's Pixie assistants in the anime series (you would think he would have learned after Lilim betrayed him!). She tends to be very sexual, and manipulates others to do what she wants. She also seems to have a rivalry with Mum Mew for Durahan's affections.

  • When a Worm is poisoned, its health slowly decreases every turn, usually 2 health points (5 in Worms 3D, and 10 in Worms 4: Mayhem) being taken away in-between turns. If a Worm is not cured soon, it will not die, but its health will eventually be reduced to only 1 health point, making it extremely vulnerable. Worms can be cured from poison if they collect a Health Crate, use an Icarus Potion or Alien Abduction on themselves (both exclusive to Worms 4: Mayhem and Worms: Ultimate Mayhem), or drink Red Bull (exclusive to Worms 3D). It is also not recommended to use Alien Abduction on your own Worm or other Worms on your team, even if they are poisoned.

  • Poison is a status ailment in Chrono Cross caused by some Green Elements. Poisoned character lose HP during battle and for each step taken after battle.
  • A poisoned character will take damage each turn in battle until the affliction is removed or the character's HP reduces to zero. Poison generally lasts after battle but this is not always the case. Common ways of removing Poison are using a Poison Antidote or casting the magic Cure or Halvah.
(TV: Planet of Giants) Poppaea, jealous of Barbara, ordered court poisoner Locusta to poison Barbara's drink. Vicki switched cups so that Nero's was poisoned, and informed the First Doctor of her actions. When the Doctor told Nero that his drink was poisoned, Nero gave it to his slave Tigilinus, who drank it and died. (TV: "Conspiracy") The Macra fed upon a poisonous gas and had humans mine it for them. (TV: The Macra Terror) In the far future, a devolved variant of the species fed on the poisonous gases that accumulated underneath the Motorway. (TV: Gridlock) Cybermats infected the crew of Nerva Beacon with a poison through their bite. Warner was killed in this way and Sarah Jane Smith was only cured after travelling through a transmat. (TV: Revenge of the Cybermen) Dianene was a poison that took effect once it was inhaled. Megropolis One was fitted with a sprinkler system that could release dianene in the event of a crisis as a part of "Contingency Plan A". (TV: The Sun Makers) The poison cyanide was used for a variety of purposes, such as killing individuals, (TV: The Brain of Morbius) killing moths for a personal collection, (TV: The Two Doctors) or creating antidotes. (TV: Rendition) Birastrop were immune to the effects of cyanide. (TV: The Brain of Morbius) Members of the Tong of the Black Scorpion were expected to consume deadly capsules of scorpion venom if they failed in their duty. (TV: The Talons of Weng-Chiang) The Fifth Doctor advocated the use of hexachromite gas against the Silurians and Sea Devils who had invaded Sea Base 4. The poison was deadly to marine and reptile life. (TV: Warriors of the Deep) Coming into contact with raw spectrox would cause spectrox toxaemia and lead to death. The Fifth Doctor and Peri Brown both became infected while on Androzani Minor. The Doctor managed to save Peri with the milk from a queen bat but was forced to regenerate to save his own life. (TV: The Caves of Androzani) Lady Peinforte had Dorothea Remington poisoned in 1621 for bribing away her cook. She would later recall how it had been a "slow poisoning". (TV: Silver Nemesis) The Judas tree contained a deadly poison which could stop a Time Lord from being able to regenerate. Trained by the Silence, Melody Pond kissed the Eleventh Doctor with lipstick made from the poison of the Judas Tree. He was only saved when she sacrificed her remaining regenerations to revive him. (TV: Let's Kill Hitler) Female Raxacoricofallapatorians could release poison with a dart released from their finger. As a "final resort", the excess poisons were exhaled through the lungs. (TV: Boom Town) While on an aeroplane, Lyn Peterfield poisoned Jack Harkness with arsenic. He got it out of his system by following the advice of Dr. Vera Juarez. (TV: Rendition) The Tenth Doctor was poisoned at Eddison Manor in 1926 but, because he knew it, he made an antidote and saved his life. (TV: The Unicorn and the Wasp)
  • Poison is a night club owned by Max Fuller.
  • Poison is a status effect in Demon's Souls.
  • Poison is a status effect in Xenoblade Chronicles.
  • Poison is an attack in the game Blast RPG.
  • Poison is one of the most annoying hazards of the early game unless you are playing a Barbarian, Healer, or orc, who all start with poison resistance, or a Monk, who gets it at level 3. There are many ways in which a NetHack character will come into contact with poison. Some monsters wield poisoned weapons or fire poisoned arrows, while others such as killer bees have a poisonous sting or bite. Poison is also used in many of the traps in the dungeons. Finally, certain kinds of corpses are poisonous, and cause 1 to 15 HP and 1 to 4 Strength loss when eaten, but never instadeath. (Though the HP loss may still be fatal instantly) (Note that poison and food poisoning are not the same thing. A poisonous corpse will give the message "Ecch - that must have been poisonous!", while food poisoning is indicated by "Ulch - that meat was tainted! You feel deathly sick." Food poisoning can be avoided by eating only fresh corpses and cured by a unicorn horn.) The effects of poison are: * Reduces your HP. * Reduces your attributes, especially strength but also dexterity and constitution. A potion of sickness can reduce any of your attributes. * At a random chance, causes your instadeath. Poison can be fatal. The best way to protect yourself from poison is to obtain poison resistance as soon as possible. Intrinsic poison resistance is granted by eating any of a large variety of corpses (listed in Dylan's Dragon Resistances spoiler). Most, but not all, of these corpses are poisonous themselves, so it is not advisable to eat them without some way of avoiding or curing the strength loss. It can be avoided by wearing an external source of poison resistance (e.g. an amulet versus poison) or a ring of sustain ability, and it can be cured by applying a unicorn horn. There are other precautions you can take to protect against specific encounters with poison: * High magic cancellation protects against poisonous bites and stings but not poisoned weapons. * Unless you know that you can fix the stat loss, don't drink unidentified potions that could be a nonblessed potion of sickness. * Don't try to untrap dart traps until you have poison resistance. * If a random scroll you read turns out to be stinking cloud, discharge it harmlessly by choosing to center the cloud a long way away from you. Routine contact with poison at the beginning of the game is likely to reduce your strength, thus limiting the weight of your inventory. You want to find a unicorn horn (not cursed!) and apply it repeatedly. You can shoot poisonous missiles yourself, with the exception of daggers (poison a missile by dipping it in a potion of sickness), but lawful gods do not approve of this and will exact a small alignment penalty. In SLASH'EM, you can also poison weapons by dipping them in a toilet.
  • I could hear the pitter-patter of the courier's feet before he even entered the thick curtain of vines that framed the door to the Lair, my own private den. There was a pause at the door, and an audible gulp, before a scared-sounding voice squeaked, "Viperstar? May I enter?" "Come on in," I droned, stretching out to full length on my large, cushiony bed of moss. The heavy vines rustled and swung like pendulums as the courier struggled to make it inside. I watched with lazy amusement, till he finally popped out of the mass of green. He was a scrawny young thing, with the telltale blue eyes and white fur that marked him out as IceClan descent. Of course, he was too young to know about IceClan and all that. All he had known was imprisonment and... service, shall we say. Raising my head from my pillowed nest, I mewed, "Come on then. What is the message? And don't waste my time. I have no patience for that." "Y-yes, Viperstar, sir. I have a message from Aquatail." Instantly, I sat up. Aquatail was one of my top agents. She wouldn't message me unless it was absolutely urgent. "Tell me. Now." Apparently trying to stop his stupid trembling, the courier recited, "You need to come. Now, Viperstar. I think we can take the rebellion by storm. There is war coming. War, do you understand me? We need to strike early and see if we can destroy them. Don't get too cocky. You have no idea what you're dealing with." For a few minutes, a deathly quiet blanketed the room. I was silent, allowing the rage to build inside me, allowing the blood to pound in my head till I was ready to explode. "WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!" I hollered, so loudly that the vines shook. The courier stumbled backwards, but it was too late. I fixed my claws around his throat, slamming him against the wall. "Did she say anything else?! Does she honestly expect me to wage WAR with a bunch of puny wannabes? What is she thinking? Has she gone mad?" "Mreep!" he choked, his eyes bugging out of his head. I dealt him a blow that slammed him again into the wall; he crumpled into a still heap on the floor. Not bothering to check if he was alive or not, I raced out of the Lair and stood in the hallway, sweat collecting on my skin. Calm down. You can't let anyone see you like this. When I had cooled down considerably, I reminded myself one last time that I was in control, and strode forward. "Robinfall!" I yelled. "Get three squadrons ready. NOW!" My bird-brained, bird-named secretary rushed to do as I commanded. "Three squadrons ready, Viperstar. The top-ranked ones-" Ignoring her, I stalked out of the nearest tunnel and out onto the canyon ridge. The sun was setting, casting an eerie red-bronze glow over everything. Aquatail had set her attack for two hours before midnight. I had plenty of time. And that was good. Because I needed it. I wasn't going to underestimate the Hidden again. They had successfully destroyed my wood-pile headquarters, and I knew they were even stronger now. This time, I would be prepared. I had some planning to do. Holding a planning meeting is extremely hard when everyone there is afraid you're going to kill them. Have I mentioned that? Oh, the woes of being a tyrant. Of course, their fears weren't entirely unfounded, but... "I haven't brought you here to stare at each other like dead rabbits. Ideas. I need ideas. Now. What is the most effective way to crush the Hidden?" A speckled gray tom cleared his throat. "If I may speak, Viperstar?" Waving my paw generously, I mewed, "By all means." He nodded, and I detected the slightest air of pompousness about him. Too bad. He would have to be brought down a notch, but first I would hear his idea. It was the most fun to promote cats till they thought they were going to be second-in-command... and then kill them for their pride and over-ambitious attitude. "May I suggest a two-pronged attack? Step one, win the public over. Set up more demonstrations, speeches, whatever it takes. Weed out the traitors and the upstarts, and make an example out of them. Show cats why enlisting in the GreenClan army is the best way to go. Get their loyalty. Step two, use your new reach of power to absolutely crush this rebellion, and all associated with it. I'm serious. We need to completely rid ourselves of the plague of rebellion. Destroy them so there's no hope left in their hearts." It was the perfect plan, and one that appealed to me immensely. I gave him a short nod. "Very good. I like it. The rest of you had better have something good to add to that, or you'll be evicted from the Council. You, er, what's your name?" "Spottedfur," the speckled tom mewed. "Good. I'll have Robinfall make a note of that. Now, I'm going to storm the rebellion, an aftershock to Aquatail's attack. Spottedfur, go tell the Head Keepers that you're in charge for the night." The tom puffed out to about twice his size and trotted out, with the others glowering enviously after him. I wasn't worried about Spottedfur though. My Head Keepers, two cruel thugs named Redclaw and Honeybee(who wasn't nearly as sweet as her name suggested) would definitely keep him in line. Now I was off. I had work to do. Though we had been marching for a good two hours, there were no complaints. There were never complaints in the GreenClan army. I had seen to that personally in our set of rules. "Viperstar, are we going to ambush, storm in there, destroy, instill fear...?" That was Risingheart, one of the squadron captains. "I'll need to meet with Aquatail first, but right now I'd say a combination of a storm-in and a destruction attack," I told him without even glancing at him. Taking the cue, he fell back behind me. That left me with some time to think by myself. I mulled over this new case that had come up. I had dealt with many little uprisings, silly families of cats who "wanted a better future for their kits" or "were true to the warrior code". And I had squashed countless rebellions who thought they stood a chance against me. But I had never met with anything as organized and steadily-striking as this so-called the Hidden group. They would disappear for a while, but they always came back. They'd destroyed the wood-pile, drowned Aristo, taken Tornadoheart's(the traitor) prisoners, and now they were back again. But this time would be different. Because Aquatail knew their hiding place. The Hidden were no longer hidden. Cheesy, but true. Just the thought of finally meeting those cheeky brats of leaders face-to-face... and ripping their faces off, filled me with a malicious delight. This encounter was one I looked forward to. When we finally stepped out onto the prairie, a soft, twilit dusk had fallen. The sky was in that hazy zone between purple-blue and dark navy. A few early stars glimmered at the corners of the evening, and the sun was just a tiny smudge of orange that was fast disappearing. We were still going at a steady, swift pace. I was determined to make it on time- if not early, so Aquatail and I could brief each other and plan. Behind me, the three captains of my squadrons - Risingheart, Treetail, and Doveslash - were murmuring in quiet tones. I strained to pick up threads of their conversations. "... death trap. Why are we..." "... shut your mouth... Viperstar..." "Wimps. He can't hear us..." I smirked to myself. They had no idea. But I'd deal with them later. I had bigger fish to eat now. You know, when I was younger, my whole family had always "wondered" about me. My idiotic dad, who only cared about my two brothers, Stone and Cold. My brothers themselves, who had been bigger and stronger than me, besting me at every turn. They were best friends, and I was the odd one out. But I had shown them, hadn't I? My mother had died when I was just a kit. Sometimes, rarely, I would remember her fur and her soft voice. But more often, I remembered my brothers screaming. Screaming as I pushed them over a cliff. My dad yelling at me to get away from him. Staring at me, calling me a monster. Hey, I couldn't help what I was. And I didn't care one bit about them, nor what they thought of me. Not one bit at all. Now I was Viperstar. Cold and Stone hadn't even gotten to be warrior-age, not that it would've mattered. They were rogues. Uneducated idiots. They had never appreciated me. But where was I now? Ruler of GreenClan. Where were they? Dead. Okay, not all of them. My dad had just run away from me, like the coward he was. Still, I thought it was safe to say that I had made a much better name for myself than he ever would. If he was even still alive. And this would usually be the part where bleeding-heart sympathetic idiots would attribute my evilness to my "poor kithood" and "unloved family life". As if. That had nothing to do with who I was. The simple truth was, I had an eye for strength, a hatred for weakness, and a passion for power. That was all there was to it. All this made me who I was. Viperstar, ruler of GreenClan. No one could forget the name. "We're almost here," I whispered. Then I froze. Something was wrong. My sixth sense was telling me so. Where was Aquatail? Surely she sensed the need for a quick planning session? In order to properly scare these rebels out of their hides, we would need to plan out our attack. But there was no sign of my ebony-furred associate. I couldn't even hear the sounds of battle, come to think of it. Dread was beginning to form a swirling knot in my stomach. "Risingheart. Send two scouts ahead and have them tell me what they see. Tell them to note everything." "Got it." He nodded and turned back to his squadron. A few minutes later, two highly-trained GreenClan scouts had just vanished behind a hill. Now there was nothing left to do but wait. I hated waiting. The news wasn't what I had hoped for. There was no sign of Aquatail's patrol. Just blood. And if the scouts were correct, the Hidden cats were in hiding. How fitting. But Aquatail had said something about tunnels. We knew where to look. "Should we look for Aquatail, Viperstar?" asked Risingheart. I paused. "Yes. Send Doveslash's squadron to do so. Risingheart, Treetail, bring your squadrons with me." Without looking back - I knew they wouldn't dare defy my orders - I marched up the hill. The moonlight's glow shone on a pair of identical boulders, framed by ivy and vines and thick grass. The field around them was littered with blood and tufts of fur... and bodies. Only GreenClan bodies. A snarl worked its way up my throat. I cared nothing for the GreenClan cats, but this was an insult to my pride. The Hidden were going down. Fixating my gaze on the boulders - for somehow I knew what I was looking for lay around them, or behind them - I whispered, "You have no idea what you've taken on, little kitties." "Ready for war?"

In the Star Frontiers rules, poisons, toxins and venoms are considered the same. For convenience, the term Poison will be used throughout to describe all three. Poisons can be either ingested (must be eaten or drunk to have effect), injected (introduced into the bloodstream through a cut, bite or injection) or inhaled. Poisons are rated by their strength (S) and duration (T) or (D); (T) is measured in 6-second turns, while (D) is measured in 10-hour periods. The poison causes a specific amount of STA damage every turn. A S5/T10 poison (such as that delivered by the standard poison gas grenades) will cause 5 points of damage every turn for 10 turns. Neutralizing a poison (using a shot of Antitox, for example) stops the poison from causing any more damage, but does not heal damage the poison caused on earlier turns.

In Resident Evil Outbreak, the player must take a sample of wasp's poison to make the Daylight anti-T reagent.

  • A poison is a substance, either organic or chemical, which inflicts harm upon a living being. In the context of the PPC, those beings are usually Mary Sues, whom can only be called 'living' by a very, very technical definition. There are a wide variety of poisons available in the multiverse, but during missions, assassins are limited to substances that exist within the assigned continuum so as not to leave behind anything uncanonical in the corpse. Substances which are harmless in one continuum may be deadly in others. When crossovers are involved, agents may need to an Anachronistic Biochemical Substance Eliminator. An extremely good book for choosing just the right poison for an assasination is Deadly Doses: A Writer's Guide To Poisons, which Acacia read in her spare time. Agent Sedri owns a copy.

As the poison disappears upon death, it can't be found during autopsies, making these insects perfect for assassinations, as they are imperceptible as mosquitoes yet as deadly as scorpions.

The effects of poisons varied widely but some common effects include paralysis, sleep, loss of ability, injury, or death. Poisoned creatures had a chance to avoid or resist the effects of a poison. A poisoned creature could be cured quickly either through an antidote, a magic potion, or by clerical or druidic magic. Some poisons could wear off after a period of time and had little or no lasting effect. Some creatures had natural resistance or immunity to poisons. Common poisons include::

  • The Poison spell poisons a vulnerable Beast such that it loses health at some rate for a period of time. This Spell's effectiveness is determined by the Wizard's magery level, but is offset by the creature's natural resistance to magic and healing rate. Not all creatures are vulnerable to the poison spell. For example, the Undead, dragons and creatures that can carry out poison attacks (e.g. snakes, gooeys and spiders) are impervious to this spell. Unlike the other time-bound spells (Simple Mind, Clumsy, Weaken, Paralyze, and Disorient), Poison is the only spell that stacks with additional casts. An adept wizard that successfully casts six or seven Poison spells on a Giant can stand out of damage range (on a raft or in hiding) and watch the Giant helplessly die without any chance of recovery. Many foes which would be nearly impossible to kill with Lightning Bolts can be dispatched quite easily with a stream of Poison spells. The Poison spell is also the weapon of choice for gentlemanly duels between wizards on PvP Island. Many wizards will engage in such duels with neither party using any other spell or permitted any potions, relying solely on Poison and Medi-healing to determine a victor. Between high level wizards, the first wizard to die is determined to be the loser, but the "winner" in the duel will nearly always die as well, when the loser's poison finally overcomes the winner's medi-healing ability.

  • Ashley Webster was poisoned with nicotine via a hair product titled "True to Colour Blonde". Vincent found Ashley collapsed on the bathroom floor in the Stanwyck Hotel, smelled the poison in her body and tried to give her emergency CPR. Unfortunately his efforts were in vain, she succumbed to poison in her system. Her assistant, Emily, who was having an affair with Ashley's husband, Alex, later admitted to killing Ashley so she could be with her husband.
The amanita phalloides is a deadly mushroom. The poison in the mushroom was 10 times more powerful than that of cyanide. Eating the mushroom was certain death, and it was easy to slip a piece of the mushroom in almost any meal. The poison could be used in various ways, depending on the situation. For example, if the shinobi could slip it into the victims food while its being prepared without knowing what kind of danger he was in, the victim would eat the food infested with the poison. Not all the poisons used by the shinobi were fatal, some of them were used to merely paralyze or cause blindness. It was not always necessary to kill. Soft-cased bombs used by the shinobi were could also be used to release poison gas. Another thing the shinobi did was dip their weapons, such as the shuriken in the poison. This was so when it punctured the skin of their target, the fast acting poison would take its course, causing much more devastating than the blade itself. Poison was never directly added to Katana or Wakizashi as it would increase mold growth around the blade, blunting and weakening the blade.
  • Poison is an effect that Mario and his allies can receive from enemies. It depletes 1 HP per turn in the first two games and depletes 1 HP every few seconds in the third. It can be cured with a few items respective to each game. Pokey Mummies, Putrid Piranhas, Poison Pokeys, Poison Puffs, Dark Cherbils, and Poison Cherbils can all poison Mario and his allies.
No solo insectos. -Hazlo, Poison. -Dick, yo no— -¡Ahora! Dick estaba decidido, no podría persuadirlo, me dolía jamás poder lograrlo. Me acerque a Aarón, este me miro mientras me sentaba junto a él. Lloro. -No me hables así-Dijo, aun sonriendo-. -¡No! Me quieren matar. Me hacen sentir tan mal. -No... -¡No! ¡A mi primero!-Grito la mujer, llorando horriblemente. -No, Elizabeth. No soportaría verte morir... -¡No! ¡Monstruo! Quería sobrevivir, me temía.
  • Poison in Hitman is used to describe a variety of poisonous substances in all of the games so far. It is usually used to poison food or drink.
  • A DoT type common to physical attackers. While most poison effects have a shorter duration than Bleed effects, they tend to do more damage each time. Of course, this is largely due to poisons having the slowest tick rate for damage over time effects, 3 seconds. Some common skills that apply poison are as follows: Sharp Splinter (Warrior:Last Survivor) Poison Arrow (Archer:Dragon Slayer) Multiple Shot (Archer:Bloody Song) Apply Poison (Archer:Soul of Master)
  • Poison is the opposite of Potion. Poison will drain the Life Energy from someone regardless of their Energy Type. In exhange for this slow death, there are various abilites that benefit the holder of Poison. There is only one known use in history of a physical substance that injects Poison into people, and that is Echo.
  • A poison is a type of substance which adversely affects living tissue, and its affects can vary from slight discomfort to death. Poisons can either be natural and synthetic in nature, with natural poisons being secreted by animals being known as venom. Examples of natural poisons include the venom of the mugato from the planet Neural and the alkaloids of the Borgia plant, which are both capable of killing an adult humanoid. (TOS episodes: "A Private Little War", "The Man Trap") Among the types of artificial poisons that exist are Felodesine chips, Veridium Six and Turath. (TNG episodes: "The Defector", "Reunion"; TOS - Vulcan's Soul novel: Epiphany) On the planet Dimorus, the rodent-like creatures used deadly poisoned darts as a weapon. In 2265, Gary Mitchell was hit by one of these darts as he leaped in front of it before it hit Captain James T. Kirk. (TOS episode: "Where No Man Has Gone Before"; TOS - My Brother's Keeper novel: Enterprise)
She can also inflict poison damage in her melee attacks. Both the above ladies do very high damage with their poison attacks, so it is highly advisable to have Antidote Potions in the Belt before fighting them. For Battle.net only characters, there is another poison user, much more deadly than the aforementioned ladies of disease, the Demon Queen, Lilith. Lilith can be fought in the Pandemonium Event Battle.net only quest and she packs quite a mean punch with her other worldly poison attacks. They do hefty amounts of damage per second and stay on the character for a very long time. It is imperative that the player fights her with Antidotes on hand. It would also help if you keep some gold ready to resurrect your hireling after the fight. Ghom is known for being the almost-exclusively Poison damage boss. Mummies and Accursed are known for leaving noxious vapors after death, dealing severe Poison damage to anything they touch.
Although poisons in Norrath have evolved over the years they can all be classified in two broad catagories. Their are damage poisons that primarily either proc as a direct damage hit or inflict damge over time to an enemy or their are debuff poisons that lower statistics, slow attack speed or movement speed or even lower the enemies aggresion toward the assassin in some cases. The signifigance in classification of these two types, in most cases, is the buff these poisons provide are not the same spell slot and can be activated at the same time. For instance, in the Planes of Power era the fashionable rogue would use the poison "Bite of the Shissar" to activate the slot 11 direct damage proc, Strike Poison, and then stack the poison "Dreams of Drusella" to activate the slot 12 aggression reducing proc, Remiss Poison. This would then provide the rogue with both the 125 direct damage proc and the debuff proc that decreased hate by 250.
  • Poison is a debuff state which causes gradual loss of HP.
  • If card wins the round, at the end of each of the following turn the opponent will lose X Life point(s) if he has more than Y Life point(s). If the opponent has Y or less Life point(s), the poison effect is not triggered. You can not stack Poison Abilities. If you successfully use another Poison Ability, it will replace the currently activated Poison, regardless of what that may be.
  • A poison is any substance that can cause severe distress or death if ingested, breathed in, or absorbed through the skin. There exists both an Antidote to Common Poisons that can counteract the effect of many ordinary poisons, as well as an Antidote to Uncommon Poisons that is helpful against many rarer ones. A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat that will reverse the effects of most poisons, though there are certain unusual ones that it won't work against. At some point, a poisoned vermin trap was set up in a room of Hogwarts Castle. Three of the potions in the bottles of the sixth obstacle of the Philosopher's Stone chambers were poison. The riddle accompanying the bottles stated that the poison was deadly. Slow-acting venoms were briefly mentioned in Gilderoy Lockhart's Gadding with Ghouls. Hermione Granger claimed that the contents of Moste Potente Potions would help her to understand what Lockhart had to say about this subject, though this was merely a ploy to obtain the book in order to find the instructions for brewing Polyjuice Potion. Whether or not this book actually contained infomation on slow-acting venoms is unknown. On Valentine's Day in 1993, Lockhart suggested that students ask Severus Snape to show them how to whip up a Love Potion, but Snape looked "as though the first person to ask him for a Love Potion would be force-fed poison." On 1 September of that year, following the inspection of the Hogwarts Express by Dementors, Remus Lupin handed out chocolate to Harry Potter and his friends to ward off the effects of the dementor's visit to their cabin, then went to speak with the train's conductor. When he returned and saw that none of them had eaten, he stated "I haven't poisoned that chocolate, you know." According to an alleged British Ministry of Magic insider in The Quibbler article "How Far Will Fudge Go to Gain Gringotts?", poison was one of the methods that Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge had employed to have goblins killed. In addition to those brewed intentionally as poisons, certain types of potions could have poisonous effects if brewed incorrectly. Before testing Neville Longbottom's Shrinking Solution on Trevor, Severus Snape noted that if the potion had not been brewed correctly, Trevor would likely be poisoned. A sign posted at St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries advised Healers that "A clean cauldron keeps potions from becoming poisons." Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody was well known for only drinking from his hip flask, due to the ease with which an unscrupulous wizard might poison an unattended cup. In advising Harry Potter to continue Potions in his sixth year, Minerva McGonagall noted that poisons and antidotes are essential study for Aurors. When attempting to interrogate Harry Potter as to the whereabouts of Albus Dumbledore and Sirius Black, Dolores Umbridge requested Veritaserum from Severus Snape. He replied that he had no further stocks of it. He blithely stated that he could not be any further help to her unless she wished to poison Harry, but noted that most venoms act too quickly to give the victim much time for truth-telling. Ronald Weasley was once poisoned by a bottle of mead, that was supposed to be a gift to Albus Dumbledore from Horace Slughorn. He was saved with a bezoar by Harry Potter. Hepzibah Smith was killed by Tom Riddle, who spilled a lethal and little known poison into her evening cocoa, under the guise of sugar. Hokey was framed for the crime, and was considered to have confused the poison for sugar due to old age.
  • Poison is a staple Status Ailment in RPGs, and appears in all Nippon Ichi games. A poisoned character suffers damage every turn. The amount of damage taken is affected by the Hit Point total of the character, and simply waiting until the status wears off can leave the character vulnerable to attacks. Characters who expire from Poison, whether inflicted by an enemy or an ally, do not count as Ally Kills. Also, should an enemy be defeated by poison, no Experience is awarded to anyone for the kill. A character inflicted with poison will have little purple bubbles above their head.
  • Poison is a form of damage over time (DOT) effect and can be delivered by another player during PvP battle, or from the debuffs from monsters since the Epic 6 update. Counter-poison scrolls from the merchant or Poison Healing or Clear Poison can be used to remove this effect.
  • There are three different classes of poisons - toxins, deliriants, and animal venoms. These are very distinct categories and work in different ways. Within each class there are several types of poison. Toxins: These are usually derived from vegetable or fungal components. There are a number of sub-categories, each generally affecting only a particular group of creatures. Their effect is to disable or kill. Deliriants: These are also usually vegetable- or fungal-based; they produce hallucinations and, in some cases, insanity. Animal Venoms: These are derived, as might be expected, from venomous animals. Their effect is to disable or kill.
  • This poison is a mix of toxins. If swallowed by mistake, this can cause dizziness, nausea, stomachaches and numbness. * Tower VIII * 3 Poison Mushroom + 3 Venom Bag * Poison Needle * Petrifying Serpent Staff * Do not Use!!! You will poison yourself, making you walk very slowly for ~5 minutes. If you happen to drink it, use a Remedy to cure.
