  • General Ironside is for now the placeholder for Earth X`s Crazy General character. Colonel Green is also scheduled to be the character who turns into the "deranged" Ultimate Weapon variant, with prominent chin, multiple eyes on its mask, fangs and an asymetrical number of arms. This character actually did not have much of a backstory, all that was known about him was that he was to be the commander in charge of The Empire's forces in Romera after the heartland fell, the most high-ranking remaining officer (except maybe the good general - another inconsistency), rallying the empire's remaining troops and rescurrecting Omega there and fusing with it, killing his soldiers (and in subsequent revisions, corrupting many of them into Chaos Space Marine-like beings). He was presented as pretty much 'evil' from the outset, even though being based on Kurtz implies that he became this way from the effects of gruesome war, rather than being 'evil' throughout his existence. That said, the semblance of Apocalypse Now only seems to go as far as the theme of having an own powerbase secluded in the jungle.October 2011 For now, his motivation is excessive religious zeal. He intends to use Omega against Omega itself. The quote about the nature of power is to be associated with him. I'm not quite sure if his soldiers are those who follow him out of loyalty, as he is the last commander left of the Empire after the rebels take and destroy the capital. However, most likely is that they do follow him for that reason in the beginning and he leads the remaining forces, bolstered by refugee forces from the mainland, to the Omega Ruins to ascend. When he does, large portions of the soldiers are mutated through Omega, becoming something like the Chaos Space Marines, sprouting mutations and getting fused with their machinery, others are killed and others again manage to escape. He also imprisons the Good Brigadier and those loyal to him. The line between "Space Marines" and "Chaos Space Marines" is hard to draw anyways in relation to Omega, this came up earlier in relation to Khan's New Party (V.2); see the relevant discussion in the Omega-XIII article.
