- "Lightray" is a series of LIGHT monsters that debuted in Galactic Overlord. In contrast to Dark counterparts, they are LIGHT versions of existing monsters. All "Lightray" seem to have the same blue-and-white color scheme. They're mostly Special Summoned by having a certain number of cards banished or in the Graveyard, and focus on banishing LIGHT monsters and supporting LIGHT Attribute monsters.
- Lightray (Sollis) is a DC Comics superhero. Created by Jack Kirby for the "Jack Kirby's Fourth World" meta-series, he first appeared in New Gods #1 (February 1971).
- Lightray is a New God, deities created from the Old Gods, who uses his abilities of speed and light in the never-ending war between his planet, New Genesis and the ravaged wasteland Apokolips. Lightray fought alongside Orion and both served Highfather loyally in the fight against Darkseid and his minions continued to thwart his plans of conquest.
- When Batman and Wonder Woman came to Supertown looking for Orion, Lightray spotted them, initially assuming that they were Bugs. When Wonder Woman asked for Orion's location, Lightray playfully offered to tell them if they managed to catch him (spanking Wonder Woman for added incentive). Lightray was able to fly faster than Wonder Woman, but was eventually caught when Batman threw his cape upon the young New God, only for Orion to arrive just at that moment, clearly angered that his friend had been attacked. During the group's subsequent meeting with Highfather, Lightray was a silent observer.

When New Genesis came under attack from Darkseid on Brainiac's asteroid, Lightray immediately sought out Highfather, who ordered an evacuation of the city. Lightray and Highfather ejected together, later meeting up with the Justice League and Orion. Lightray went out to search for the other citizens, but he was unable to find them. Fortunately, they had been sheltered in the hive of Forager. Years later, New Genesis detected an explosion in the coordinates of where Brainiac's asteroid was destroyed, and Lightray was sent to investigate. What he found was Lex Luthor and the surviving members of the Legion of Doom, who had survived due to Sinestro's power ring. Entering the force field Sinestro formed, Lightray shook hands with Luthor, allowing Evil Star to hit him from behind, knocking him out. The Legion stole his Mother Box and used it to open a Boom tube for them to escape back to earth. Lightray's fate is unknown.

Lightray fought alongside Orion and both served Highfather loyally in the fight against Darkseid and his minions continued to thwart his plans of conquest. Lightray eventually joined the Justice League, along with Orion, to protect the earth, that was decreed to be under Highfather's protection, from the invasion from Apokolips and other enemies alike. When the android Amazo returned to Earth and threatened its citizens, Lightray joined an emergency team of League members and tried to fight him but, Amazo's ever-growing powers proved futile. Lightray later aided the Justice League with Orion and Big Barda with the Earth was invaded by a vicious alien warlord. When Infinity-Man, called the New Gods Killer, invaded Earth and killed many New Gods, Lightray fought his best to stop him but lost his life and passed on through the Source Wall. Lightray, along with many New Gods, including Orion. Barda and Mister Miracle, were later shown reincarnated in the ruins of Apokolips creating a newer New Genesis.
