  • A red giant is a star that is nearing the end of its life. The star going red giant will swell in size, as it burns heavier elements after its hydrogen has depleted. Sometime after the red giant grows, it becomes critical, causing the star to go supernova. (SGA: "The Last Man") Our sun will go red giant in around 5,000,000,000 years time. The star that M35-117 orbits will go red giant in 48,000 years time. However, in an alternate reality Lt. Colonel John Sheppard's team visited, the star had already gone red giant. (SGA: "The Daedalus Variations")
  • A red giant was a star that was extremely large, and if a planet was close to it, that planet would be superheated and most likely uninhabitable by most species. An example of a red giant star was the sun in the Bastatha system, which made Bastatha almost completely uninhabitable.
  • A Red Giant is a type of star that has fused all the hydrogen in its core to helium so nuclear reactions in the core have stopped. At that stage nuclear activity starts in outer layers of the star and the star swells to giant size. The light emitting layers of the star cool down till the star emits mainly red light. Red giants are very large and very luminous but the red giant faze in the lifetime of a star last a relatively short time, red giants last thousands of years which is long for human beings but far shorter than the previous life of the star on the Main sequence
  • The Red Giant is a rare Powder Game effect that outshines the whole background. It is used with the BG-aura effect. With the founder of the effect Final508, In real life, Red Giants are the point of where they run out fuel, then uses strong atoms to burn (Hydro/Heli Stars), After that, This huge star becomes a white dwarf.
  • A red giant is a type of star in which the internal supply of hydrogen has been exhausted, leaving the star swollen to a large size with its expanding, cooling mass, and glowing with a reddish light. The yellow dwarf star Sol is expected to become a red giant start in approximately five billion years.
  • Red Giant is a red and black from the Marketplace.

  • Red Giants are found in the Gigas Tower in Utgard in Random Kingdom VX. These enemies are extremely resistant to physical and magical damage (absorbing Fire), but can be hurt by inflicting Gravity-based damage on them, which will invariably hit them for 9,999 damage. Even though Gravity is %-based damage, Red Giants are unique in that they CAN be killed with Gravity alone. They attack with powerful physical attacks as well as with high-tier Fire magic. Red Giants drop the item Star Ash, which is used to spawn Gargantua.
  • A red giant is a very large, relatively cool star, formed when a main sequence star ran out of hydrogen and began fusing helium. Some red giants were considered B class stars. (TNG: "We'll Always Have Paris" ) Azati Prime, the location where the Xindi built their weapon in the 2150s, was a red giant star, one of seven spread over about forty light years. (ENT: "Stratagem", "Azati Prime") The central star in the Bopak system was a red giant. (DS9: "Hippocratic Oath") The Nyrian system contained a red giant star. (VOY: "Displaced")

  • The Red Giant has seen a variety of names in its appearances. Its Japanese name is "Wolframiter": "Wolframite" with the "er" word-ending. In its original appearance in Final Fantasy VII the name was erroneously localized as "Wolfmeister" (would would be written in Japanese). In its other appearances no attempt has been made to keep the original Japanese meaning. Its common name "Red Giant" originating in Final Fantasy VIII refers to its status as a red version of the Iron Giant.

In its other appearances no attempt has been made to keep the original Japanese meaning. Its common name "Red Giant" originating in Final Fantasy VIII refers to its status as a red version of the Iron Giant. Its third name in three appearances, "Red Giant" wouldn't apply in Final Fantasy X where the enemy appeared as a pair of red and blue enemies, so they were named Gemini referencing that they were a pair. In Final Fantasy X-2 only one of the pair returns losing this context.

(ENT: "Stratagem", "Azati Prime") The central star in the Bopak system was a red giant. (DS9: "Hippocratic Oath") The Vandor system was a binary star system that was comprised of a red giant and pulsar. It was chosen by Paul Manheim as the site of his temporal experiments because of the system's unique gravity signature. (TNG: "We'll Always Have Paris" ) A binary star system in the Kavis Alpha sector, studied by Doctor Paul Stubbs with his egg probe in early 2366, consisted of a neutron star and a red giant. (TNG: "Evolution" ) The Nyrian system contained a red giant star. (VOY: "Displaced") One of the Think Tank's accomplishments was re-igniting the red giants of the Zai Cluster. (VOY: "Think Tank") In 2377, a red giant was one of the obstacles during the Antarian Trans-stellar Rally. Tom Paris and B'Elanna Torres had to adjust the Delta Flyer II's course when approaching it and recalibrate their sensors to compensate for photonic interference. (VOY: "Drive") Soon after, a trio of Ferengi hatched an elaborate plan to steal Seven of Nine's nanoprobes by using two red giants to create a geodesic fold. (VOY: "Inside Man") In 2378, Seven of Nine noted that USS Voyager's sensors had detected a red giant in a region of space supposedly under the control of the R'Kaal. (VOY: "Renaissance Man")

(PROSE: Timewyrm: Apocalypse) At the end of the universe, a red giant was the last star in existence. The War Doctor deployed the Tear of Isha into the star so the Time Lords could not use it to close the Tantalus Eye which would have disastrous consequences for the whole of the Tantalus Spiral during the Time War. Instead, the red giant collapsed without harming anyone. (PROSE: Engines of War) While fighting the Greld, the Earth Empire used a quark bomb on a star in one of their star systems. The bomb changed the star from a white dwarf to a red giant. Afterward, the Empire built a prison on one of the surviving planets, Dis, which now orbited inside the photosphere of the red giant. (PROSE: Original Sin)
