The Danvers teach her to be careful with her powers, until she has to reveal them during an unexpected disaster, setting her on her journey of heroism.
- Supergirl is a name used by several female counterparts to Superman over the years. The original and most famous is Superman's cousin Kara Zor-El, a surviving alien from the destroyed planet Krypton. Despite being technically his older cousin, due to fluctuations in time and space she is actually younger than Superman. Superman sets her up with the Danvers family to raise her and she takes the civilian name Linda Danvers.
