| abstract | - USS Pegasus (NCC-78562) was a Galaxy Class explorer commissioned in 2371 simultaneously with her sister ship the USS Olympus, the Pegasus was commanded by Captain Amanda Lee throughout the Dominion War and through the 2380's. A highly decorated vessel, the Pegasus had one of the finest combat records of the war, with Cardassian forces after the war having admitted to avoiding the ship whenever possible during the hostilities. In 2401, the Pegasus went into dry dock for some 18 months to be refit. During the refit, the ship was equipped with many enhancements adapted from the now proven, and dominant, Century Class. The Pegasus was outfitted with the latest phaser emitters, quantum torpedoes, and engine upgrades. The ship also received a new high capacity shield and deflector system also courtesy of its younger cousin. The Pegasus is expected to serve well into the mid 25th century.
