Ellos prometieron volver a encontrarse allí y Aki, fiel, acude cada domingo desde hace dos años a esperarle. • Pride is one of the from Abrahamic Lore and is the most vile of the seven, as it is the source of the others. It is an inflated desire to be more important than others, attractive than others, refusing or failing to acknowledge the good work of others, and excessive love of one's self. It is often synonymous with hubris, which is extreme pride. The demon that represents Pride is Lucifer, whose Pride led him to oppose God as he viewed himself above him. His defeat at God's hands and fall from grace gave rise to the phrase "Pride before a fall". The corresponding virtue is humility. Pride can also be an emotion with good thoughts behind it, such as satisfaction with one's or others' choices. National Pride is born out a love for one's nation and its people, while racial pride is born out of
  • Paladins are strange people. While many are happy pursuing their own goals in life, paladins abide by a code. Not just the letter of it, but the spirit of it as well. With most paths in life, people are at least subconsciously aware of what they will do and sacrifice to achieve their ends. "I would love to be Mayor more than anything, but I wouldn't kill anyone to do it" is just another way of saying "I prefer to not be Mayor than to be a murderer." Maybe Jaq paused for a long moment, before instructing the devil to send him to the battlefield, but we'll never know.

  • Pride is a major character in the third, fourth and fifth series of The Tribe. Introduced in series three as a member of the Eco Tribe, a true rebel with a cause and a visionary, Pride is determined to build a sustainable society that coexists with nature. He fundamentally believes that humans should live peacefully in the environment as nature can provide resources for everyone. Because of this, his rejection of technology and the values of the old adult world causes friction with people of the city, particularly the Technos. This is exemplified by his dissent for the return of electricity in the city and his continued efforts to thwart the Technos even after losing support from members of the underground resistance against the Technos.
  • The Sins of Pride was considered to be one of the strongest Warlocks to ever lived. His sense of nobility was strong but he would gain his goals by any means possible. Even if that meant the slaughter of anyone and everyone that stood in his way.
  • "In this world, humans are of little consequence."-Pride Pride (プライド, Puraido) was the first Homunculus that Father created, embodying the cruelest, most prejudicial, yet most basic aspect of evil. He is the pinnacle of the Homunculi's homunculus-centric beliefs and contempt of humans. He is the second-in-command of the Homunculi, and can also possess the greatest overall physical strength among them (only if he is exposed to the light of sources with just-right brightness/luminosity). Pride was created in Father's image, with Pride's shadowy actual form extremely resembling Father's. Much like the Sloth and Wrath characters, there is a different version of the Pride character in the 2003 anime.
  • Pride or Hokori (誇り-プライド-, alternatively PRIDE instead of the katakana or simply PRIDE altogether) is a seinen drama manga series written and illustrated by Yoichi Takahashi in which the sport of football is featured. • Pride (プライド) is the 13th track to Sanada's album Shou.
  • Pride or Hokori (誇り-プライド-, alternatively PRIDE instead of the katakana or simply PRIDE altogether) is a seinen drama manga series written and illustrated by Yoichi Takahashi in which the sport of football is featured. Of all comic series of Takahashi, Pride is thematically the most mature and complex, with a deeper narrative than previous works. The comic series was first irregularly serialized from issue #2252 to #2293 of the magazine Weekly Manga Goraku, a publication focused on a mature public that is affectionately called a middle-aged Jump, published by Nihon Bungeisha in the period of February to December 2011. After almost a year and a half on hiatus, the series returned from issues #2362 to #2389 of the same magazine in the period of April to November 2013. With a total of 33 chapters (including the 7-page long prologue), the series was compiled in four tankobon volumes and is also available in ebook format in several popular digital services such as iBooks and Amazon Kindle among many others. These volumes are also currently being published in Italy by the Italian publisher Goen. The stories focus on the struggles of footballers who were former stars in the J. League Division 1 (J1) and now play in the J. League Division 2 (J2) in new harsher conditions, keeping their pride to keep on playing football despite setbacks in their lives. All clubs and footballers mentioned in the story are fictional, but are based on real life counterparts. Besides taking place in the J2 instead of the J1, Pride gained extra-notoriety in the Japanese football community for a full homage chapter dedicated to Japanese footballer Naoki Matsuda, who perished on 4 August 2011. It is also infamous among Japanese otaku for being the first series of Takahashi, known for romantic comedies and light romance dramas, that deals with a netorare scene in an important point of the plot of the fourth story arc.
  • Shazam imprisoned him, as well as all the other members of the Seven Deadly Enemies of Man in the Rock of Eternity.
  • The Sins of Pride was considered to be one of the strongest Warlocks to ever lived. His sense of nobility was strong but he would gain his goals by any means possible. Even if that meant the slaughter of anyone and everyone that stood in his way. He is one of the 2 last living sins. He used to be very strict as a member of the Sins but he did this because of how much he became attached to the members of the sins. But when the final fight came around. He watched in horror as the members of the Sins passed away in front of him. He watched as Greed, Wrath, Sloth, Envy and Gluttony were cut down in front of him.

  • Pride is often considered by idiots to be the opposite to the superior emotion of shame. This is demonstrably wrong. Both emotions are retrospective feelings about ones actions. Pride is generally felt after a prolonged period of hard work, shame is often felt after a period of fun. Pride is the arrogant imposter of the two emotions, it implies inordinate self-esteem, an unreasonable conceit of one's own superiority in talents, beauty, wealth, rank etc. Indulging in pride too often is liable to breed contempt of other people. What is worse pride can give the individual an abhorrent and inaccurate sense of self worth and an inclination towards aggrandisement of ones actions and motivations. Shame is a much more healthy emotion, it's presence implies greater self awareness. Awareness of ones own craven patheticness and the futility of hope. An individual familiar with and able to value their own sense of shame, is an individual willing to embrace the truth of their own inherent indecency and impudence.
  • The investigation of a gay councilman's murder involves his roommate and a homophobic politician.
  • Pride is one of four dwarven warders guarding the way to Labyrinth Level 2 of Durlag's Tower. To solve Pride's riddle, a passage from four books must be read. The books are located in the chapel. Inside the circular-shaped room, the four books lay open with passages that describe past exploits of Durlag's achievements. Each book must be read and after the last passage is read, a click will be heard as if something has been activated. Pride is the strongest of the warders and the most difficult to defeat. He is unnaturally fast and has a high number of attacks per turn. Oil of Speed may be useful in matching him. He is slightly resistant to all forms of damage, both magical and mundane, but has a higher resistance to magic than anything else. Despite his resistance he can still be affected by spells like Web which hamper movement and by other offensive spells. He can be weakened by causing Avarice to cast Cloudkill and then leaving the room. If pride remains behind he will be injured by the spell. This is easiest to achieve if the party retreats as soon as the warders attack and then lures them off one by one. Avarice always casts Cloudkill at the start of combat.

  • Paladins are strange people. While many are happy pursuing their own goals in life, paladins abide by a code. Not just the letter of it, but the spirit of it as well. With most paths in life, people are at least subconsciously aware of what they will do and sacrifice to achieve their ends. "I would love to be Mayor more than anything, but I wouldn't kill anyone to do it" is just another way of saying "I prefer to not be Mayor than to be a murderer." Paladins don't always have that. Some of them are missing the tiny voice that says "In carrying out your god's mission, there are some things that you personally should not or will not do." This is often praised as zeal, as young paladins are rewarded for carrying out their work without fear or selfishness. As they gain years and experience, most paladins find a comfortable balance where they carry out their duty with fervor and enthusiasm, but apply critical thinking to what they do, and restrain themselves when needed. Jaq was not one of the good paladins. he was very good at carrying out his oath, and extremely good as acting as the bane of evil. He just wasn't good at cultivating the underlying humanity needed for those actions to mean something. If he'd been born in The Sands, he would have fit right in with the fascist regime there. Had he been raised in the daemonic realm of Abaddon, he might have been a force for terror. As it was, he was raised in the Valley, and became a force for Good and Law. But without that little voice, things can begin to go wrong. While in jail in Skor he found himself in an odd predicament. Freeing himself would be a violation of his oath, but remaining here was preventing him from doing his important work. Freedom came suddenly, yanking him across the planes. There he found himself in a Devil's court. A choice was offered: He could fight here and now, to see how many devils he could take down before he was slain, or he could be transported to a volatile area where the Seven Heavens intersected with the Abyss, and do battle there, alongside the forces of Good and Law. It's unknown if Jaq asked the obvious question of the devil: Why bring him here, instead of just sending him to the battlefield directly? It's possible that the devil just leaned back in its chair and said "You need to make the choice. You've dedicated your life to destroying evil, and here are hundreds of devils on their home plane, where their deaths will be meaningful, where you will have made a difference in this war. Or you can go to the battlefield, and fight a righteous battle, angels against demons, good against evil. There you can fulfill your oath, and do what you've been trained to do" Maybe Jaq paused for a long moment, before instructing the devil to send him to the battlefield, but we'll never know. The wars of the planes are ones of offense. On their home plane, planar creatures risk permanent death, where their essence is returned to their homeland and their sense of self is lost. Gods can restore this essence and recreate the creature, but it an intensive process. If a creature dies while assaulting a foreign plane, its simply banished from that plane for a period of time that is proportional to the creature's power. For the common soldiers, this is usually from between a week and a year, which is an inconvenience at most. Then there are the mortals who fight alongside them. Take this archer for instance; he can move back and forth across the battlefield without fearing that he is standing somewhere that will result in his permanent death, nor worry about being blocked from an area from which he is banished. He is weaker than most of the creatures he fights, but his arrows fly true and Muir's blessing causes them to defeat the defenses of anything he faces. Should he fall, one of the nearby archons will resurrect him and he will throw himself back into the fray. Few mortals would choose this life, and fewer still are powerful enough to withstand it. The constant tearing of soul from body and back again can take a toll on even the most hearty of mortal creatures. But this archer revels in it, loosing arrow after arrow, cheering whenever his foe falls. If one was watching him, they might almost think he was having the time of his life.

This is exemplified by his dissent for the return of electricity in the city and his continued efforts to thwart the Technos even after losing support from members of the underground resistance against the Technos. Other than being an environmentalist, Pride is shown to have an extensive knowledge of plants, camouflage and traps - skills that he had taught Amber/Eagle, whom he had a crush on when they were both Ecos. He also knows Tai Chi, allowing him to act as Tai San's Tai Chi Master as part of his resistance against the Chosen. Around the same time, Pride develops a brief relationship with May. After May is taken from the Technos in season 4, Pride becomes prominent opponent to the Technos. Pride later falls in love with Salene. Unfortunately, Pride defies his own personal values when he becomes chronically addicted to Reality Space. He is tragically killed in Season 5 in an attempt to save Salene.
National Pride is born out a love for one's nation and its people, while racial pride is born out of love for one's fellow race.

Pride inhabits a child-shaped husk named Selim Bradley. Pride is one of the two Homunculi who possess "true forms"-physical incarnations of their deeper desires that take shape when their stones are almost completely depleted, the other being Envy.
