  • The Orion class is a class of Colonial Battlestar. It is a smaller type of warship, smaller than the more well known Battlestars, and was in use during the First Cylon War. Its standard complement included missiles, 10 Viper class fighters, utility craft, nuclear weapons and guns. Its standard crew was 150, not including pilots and crews for light craft carried onboard.
  • The Orion-class was a type of starship in use by the Federation Starfleet in the 24th century, a heavy scout design in use by the later 2370s decade. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Price of Freedom) This class presumably would include a prototype ship that would be named USS Orion, although no such ship was mentioned.
  • This class of four ships began a new age in dreadnought construction. They are considerably larger, better protected and heavier armed than any ship preceding them in any navy, and they also were the first in the Royal Navy to drop the wing turret system. The five main battery turrets are all in the centre line, allowing for the elimination of one turret while maintaining a ten round broadside. All four ships entered fleet service in 1911 and 1912.
