Ash is a hero among the population and Sheila, the sister of Arthur, falls in love with him. Ash can persuade Arthur that Henry has nothing to do with the deadites. Thereupon be released all the prisoners of Henry's army. According to the counsel can Ash back to his own time using the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis. Ash start the quest and ends up in an enchanted forest where he is chased by an evil force. Ash flight a windmill in where a mirror hangs. Because Ash in the previous film had a nasty experience with its mirror image, he flings the mirror smashed to smithereens. Against expectation in creeps out now each shard a miniature version of him. They put the attack on Ash. One of these thumbnails ends up in the body of Ash, grows there and is a life-size clone. Ash kills the clone and chops it into pieces. It enters from the other thumbnails. Ash arrives on the cemetery where the Necronomicon is stored away, but finds three books. After he finds the right book, he has learned to say a spell given to him by counsel. This spell is needed to take the book securely. He wants Sheila as a bride and after a kiss they also changes into a Deadite. Then start killing army rate back towards the castle to retrieve the Necronomicon. Kill both of them before attacking the camp (you don't want one of them to suddenly appear at your back while fighting the priest). The Priest is a massive healer, so taking him out first would be prudent. After killing the Priest of Menzies he will drop a book, which you have to take back to Kromril.

It grossed $11.503 million domestically and another $10 million outside the USA for a total worldwide gross of $21.5 million. Critical response was positive. Since its video release it has acquired a massive cult following, along with the other two films in the trilogy. The film was dedicated to Irvin Shapiro, who died during the film's production in 1989 on New Year's Day.
