  • Back-formation from morpheme.
  • Usually, non-gui morphs would be a model with a (usually red) circle /square platform infront of it, and if the player steps on the platform, they become the model behind it. Morphs are often used for roleplaying games, and some morphs can be scripted into gui's where if you press the gui button for the morph, it sometimes teleports you to the map, along with morphing you. Some morphs give the player special abilities when they morph into a character. For example, if there was an advanced zebra morph, there could be an advanced script of where if you press "E ", it makes you eat grass .
  • Morph is a mutant and member of the X-Men.
  • Morph was a Polydroxol smuggler who was associated with three other smugglers: Bruce Mercy, Durquist, and Ptak-Sok.
  • Morphs are creatures from Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade who appear to be human but are actually made from recycled quintessence. Morphs serve as the minions of Nergal. The ability to create Morphs was studied and researched by the dragons in Arcadia. Morphs are also somewhat similar to the Deadlords, as the Deadlords are also made from people who died.
  • To Morph is to fall into a pile of 'goo', and then two of the same species rise up from it. Only one species is known to reproduce in this way: The Star Eyes. Be careful not to mix it up with 'Morphed'.
  • Proteus spent some time in the Traitor Game as "Morph", but the brainwashing faded as he was attacked by Satan Girl. He emerged with full control of his personality once again.
  • Trans is a unique mutation possessed only by Aoi Uchiha and presumed Kyuui Uchiha. It is similar to Shapeshifter Projectile, but it is not a Kekkei Genkai.
  • Morph is a 1980 stop-motion film produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Aardman Animations.

He reappeared as a recurring villain in the second season where it was revealed that Mr. Sinister had saved and brainwashed him. Until the end of the season, through constant assurance from his teammates, Morph helped battle Sinister. Professor X finally removed his implants, but he needed much more rehabilitation. Morph later appeared in the episode "Courage", and in the series finale, "Graduation Day," where he briefly appeared as Professor X, while the professor was sick and dying due to an illness. He appeared to have more of his past snickering humor, probably suggesting that he was now mentally healthy and back on the team, this time permanentl
  • The infamous cyborg pirate Long John Silver rescued a Morph on Proteus and kept it as a loyal pet. His remark when introducing it: "he's a Morph" implies that this is the name of the species, rather than that individual. After arrival on the legendary Treasure Planet; Silver leads a mutiny to take control of the ship and Morph accidentally plays up an important role when he playfully disguises himself as the treasure map and is taken by Jim Hawkins; causing Silver and the pirates to believe that Hawkins has the map. After witnessing his owner's violent and arrogant behavior, Morph changes side and becomes one of Hawkins companions. He eventually forgives his redeemed ex-owner Silver, who gives Morph to Hawkins and departs alone for new adventures.

He took a deep breath of the cool, late summer air, nothing more perfect then that moment he spent relishing the silent solitude and the smell of the earth. He stepped off the porch and started down the forest path with a confident stride. The path was a well worn dirt trail that started behind his house in the countryside and lead through the dense pine forest that surrounded his property, eventually leading back to his home in a loose circle.

  • Brad enjoyed taking walks at night. He did so every evening on the weekend, standing on his porch, admiring the waning light of the evening sun. The only sound on the trail was the song of crickets and the low whistle of wind through the trees. It was much too hot to go outside during the day, but night was perfect with the clear sky, nothing in the way of the soft light of the full moon against the dark blue, velvet sky. All went well until his usual route was cut off by an enormous tree which seemed to have been ripped out of its place by a recent windstorm. It was safe to assume so from the sight of the roots caked with moist, black soil. Its trunk was so thick and its branches so wide and so many, that maneuvering around it on foot was out of the question. Brad let out an irritated sigh and glanced around in search of a possible detour. Off to the right was a much older path, much narrower than the main trail and half-obstructed by tall weeds. He hesitated for a moment before taking another look at the downed tree in his path. "I might as well. I can always turn back if it doesn't lead anywhere," Brad muttered to himself before setting down the neglected side route. The weeds stung his legs with every step. He now understood why nobody had traveled down this path, the trees were so close together that almost no light got through at all. He could only just barely see a few paces in front of him. It was a while before he realized that the woods were now dead silent. All he could hear was his own breath and his movements through the grass. After a while, Brad seated himself on a dead log to catch his breath. He cursed under his breath as he picked ticks off of his legs leaving small red welts. His legs itched horribly all over, he was just about to turn around and head back when he heard a faint rustling in the brush. At first, Brad had dismissed the sound as a raccoon making its rounds until he heard it again, closer this time. Brad stood up, his eyes scanning the woods. “Who’s there?” Whatever was out there was drawing closer to him, its footsteps growing more and more distinct with the rigorous quivering of the leaves. His heart was pounding in his chest, every instinct screaming at him to just run away, yet he stood transfixed, listening for the thing in the woods. Just then, a dark shape leaped out and into the clearing, sending him stumbling backwards onto the log with a startled yell. It was only a raccoon. The little animal rushed off into the blackness of the woods that fell silent yet again. Brad had his hand on his chest, feeling his heartbeat slowing down to normal. He couldn't help but laugh at what just happened. “Wow, how lame was that?” he said to himself, “All that over a raccoon.” He started to make his way back home when he was stopped dead by the sight of a bizarre figure standing in his way. The thing had a shape vaguely like a person's, but everything was off. The thing's limbs were long, lean, and muscular, and it sat crouched on the ground, as if ready to pounce. The moonlight glinted off its slick, gunmetal gray skin covered in warts, like that of a large toad. Its face was just as alien as the rest of it with its amber-colored eyes spaced far apart and focused on him; the pupils were a narrow, oblong shape and shone with a sinister intelligence. Its mouth was wide and hung up as the thing breathed, letting out a sickening, hoarse croaking sound. It had not nose or ears to speak of, but small openings in their place. Brad heard himself let out a scream as he stepped back in a panic, his eyes glued to the frightening creature. "What the hell are you?!" he said, his voice quivering with obvious alarm. Brad's heart nearly leaped out of his chest as he watched the creature slowly rise up on its legs, its face illuminated by the little moonlight there was. He swallowed down the bit of terror he felt, and slowly approached the being in caution. His heart was racing faster than ever, his chest felt as if it'd explode at any moment. His breath caught up in his throat, and his limbs stiffened with swelling numbness that came from the sight of the... thing. He slowly raised his arm to touch the top of its head, when it suddenly let out a massive roar, and spray of a burning liquid all over his face. The next few moments were a terrible blur for Brad. He blindly stumbled about, shrieking in pain as the liquid scalded his face. He shoved the thing aside and bolted down the path. His vision had returned after a few seconds, but everything blurred into vague, unrecognizable shapes and all he could hear was his own screaming and the rustling of the underbrush. The burning sensation on his face grew worse with every passing instant, and he was sure that it was spreading down his neck, eating up his neck with its aggression. His vision was starting to finally clear up, though his eyes still stung horribly and watered from the pain. After what felt like an eternity, he could see the outline of his house coming into view. He was exhausted and his mind was clouded with panic. His every breath came with a sharp pain as he staggered up, like a drunkard, to the door. He fumbled with his keys for several agonizing seconds, in a hurry to grab a hold of the right one. He finally opened the door and rushed into the bathroom to check out what the creature had done to his face. In the mirror, he saw the right half of his face covered in a thick, glossy black fluid that pulsed as it slowly spread across his face. He splashed it with water, but to no avail. His heart was racing even faster, he frantically tried to pry it off his face with the help of his nail, feeling the strange oily substance that rubbed off on his hands as he pulled and pulled, but the black material adhered fast to his face. He paused to look at his hands; all he had accomplished was getting it on his fingers. He let out a scream as it began to devour more of the sight of his skin. He tore off his clothes and threw them on the bathroom floor. Another glance back at the mirror revealed that the stuff had traveled down most of his neck and was beginning to take over his chest. He stepped into the shower and turned on the hot water. It only seemed to encourage the mysterious thing to take over more of his flesh, and faster. “No.. no… no…. no! No! God no!” Brad cried out as he pulled at the black mass quickly spreading down his chest. The stuff stretched as he pried at it, but no matter how hard he pulled it would just resume its shape. It felt like tar in his wet, quivering hands. He fell to his knees in the shower, he could only watch as the black mass started enveloping his hands. Thin tendrils of black sludge snaked over his fingers, threading themselves under his fingernails. For a few seconds, he was nearly blinded by pain as the sludge under his fingernails swelled and dug deeper into the foundations of the nails. He watched as the nails fell out, one by one, as the sludge now completely covered his hands. There was another surge of pain as pointed, jet black claws burst out of the roots of his fingernails. He could see small trails of dripping blood amongst the glossy black of the slime. He shut the water off. He staggered out of the shower and looked one last time in the mirror. He cried out in panic as he saw the reflection of his face, now almost completely covered; staring back at him. His mind overwhelmed, he felt light-headed. The world around turned once again into an indistinct blur as he collapsed on the floor like a rag doll. The black mass quickly spread over his back the second he hit the ground. It was spreading faster than ever. In mere seconds, it completely covered his back, legs, and feet. He laid there on the floor, now completely covered. A few moments passed with nothing happening, Brad was beginning to think it was over until blinding pain coursed through his entire body. His body was twisting itself into a different shape. The muscle and bones in his legs and arms stretched and grew, making sickening cracking sounds as the ligaments and joints were forced into different positions. All he could here was his own screams and the sounds of his body contorting itself into an alien shape. His face deformed itself; His nose drew back into his face, leaving two thin slits. His fingers grew long and thin. His feet bent and contorted until they started to resemble those of a large toad. The pain was indescribable, unlike anything Brad had ever felt. It was at that moment that he thought he would die. Eventually the pain became too much, he felt himself losing consciousness…. He was losing himself…. He was going… He was gone. He let out one last cry of terror and pain before falling into blissful, heaven-sent unconsciousness. The creature awoke some unknown time later. Still groggy and disoriented slightly, it slowly climbed to his feet. It glanced at the mirror; staring back at him was a truly deplorable creature. Its oil-dark skin was slick and marked with countless small, irregularly shaped warty growths and shone a deep metallic blue in the light. Its eyes were large; amber colored and had narrow slit pupils. It opened his mouth to reveal a row of small, needle-like teeth that were the color of sandstone. He pressed his webbed hand upon the glass. Somewhere, deep within the recesses of the creature’s mind, Brad was crying out, begging to regain control of what used to be his body. The creature paid no heed to this voice. It shambled out of the bathroom and went over to the back door and swung it open with such force that it was nearly torn from its hinges. The cool early morning air swept over its skin. The sun had not yet risen. The creature stepped out, and disappeared into the darkness of the surrounding woods. Credited to Bongwater-bandit

However, after his mother passed away from lung cancer when he was thirteen, his father insisted that his son take a more serious approach to life. The effect this had on the youth was the exact opposite of what his father intended. The more stoic his father got, the more ridiculous Morph got, building him into the uncontrollable bag of childish reflexes we know today. When he was discovered by Charles Xavier and brought to his School for Gifted Youngsters, Morph took to training his abilities with an enthusiasm and humor that both ingratiated and annoyed. He began as a New Mutant, then an X-Man, and moved on to be one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes as an Avenger. However, he would eventually come home to rejoining the team that is also his family, the X-Men. During a battle with a druid villain named Stonehenge, Morph found himself transported to the middle of a barren desert alongside five other X-Men from five different realities. They were greeted by the Timebroker, a construct of their collective consciousness, who explained to them that they had all become unhinged from time as a chain of events had caused their realities as they knew it to change. New events in Morph's past caused Morph to become injured battling the Morlocks while still with the New Mutants. Ever since, his physical composition was disrupted and Morph remains comatose in liquid form resting within a beaker in the lab of Hank McCoy, the X-Man called Beast. In order to return to their correct timelines, they would have to repair other realities that caused the ripple effect that disrupted their reality or they would return to their alternate existences. When Sunfire joined the team after the Exiles lost a member for the first time, Morph aided Mariko in adjusting chaotic lifestyle by helping her see the lighter side of every situation. The two formed a close relationship and Morph began to develop stronger feelings for Sunfire outside of friendship. In time, Mariko would reveal to Morph that she was a lesbian and had hesitated to tell him of her sexual orientation because she had a hunch about how he felt for her and didn't want to hurt his feelings. Morph took the news amazingly well, reacting in a sensible manner and they would continue the best platonic relationship within the team. After an adventure that pit the team against a mystical, spell-wielding sorceress Callisto, the Exiles were plucked from their reality-hopping affairs by Mojo, the evil dictator of the unique Mojoverse where television ratings determine who rules the planet. Mojo had brought the Exiles to Mojoverse to steal Morph away from their ranks and have the metamorph star in his own television show. When Mojo took Morph hostage, Nocturne was inadvertently captured alongside the shape-shifter and was also brought back to Mojo's base of operations. Although Morph initially refused to jump through hoops for Mojo, his decision was eventually won over when Mojo revealed that they had been brutally torturing Nocturne. T.J. was kept locked inside of an isolated cell while the Morph Show became the #1 sensation in all of the Mojoverse, receiving the highest ratings in over a hundred years. Morph would try to escape numerous times daily, but would always ultimately be incarcerated once more as the Mojo star was under heavy watch. Luckily, Nocturne freed herself from imprisonment by tricking a guard into unlocking her inhibitor collar. Taking possession of the guard's body, T.J. found Morph inside the Morph Show's green room and, once united, the two made a run for it, only to be stopped dead in their tracks by Mojo. During this confrontation, the normally merry Morph exploded with rage. Driven by the disgust and fury at the millions of innocents that Mojo had maimed, twisted, tortured, raped, and killed, Morph was set to kill the ruler of Mojoverse when the Timebroker stepped in and brought things to a halt. By bringing the Exiles to the Mojoverse, Mojo has tampered with time. Morph killing Mojo would just complicate things further. A morose Morph apologizes to Nocturne for causing her suffering, but Talia assured him that none of it was his fault. Either way, Morph was discouraged and wanted to go home. Despite what one might gather from his juvenile mannerism and antics, Morph is far from foolish. He graduated from a university with a master's degree in computer engineering and his intellectual abilities have come in handy to get the Exiles out of a bind on numerous occasions. When the team faced the Galactus, Morph was the only capable of operating a Skrull Laser Satellite and his familiarity with alien technology was what allowed Earth's heroes to devise a plan to stop the World Devourer. Morph would flex his brain power again on a planet overrun by an evolved version of the Legacy Virus. When the Avengers were left only to explore apocalyptic resolution to their plight, Morph had an idea to have Rachel Summers contact the Asgardians. Using the healing properties of their blood, Hank Pym was able to devise a vaccine. He recently helped the team take down Proteus by impersonating the Maestro and weakening Proteus with a steel strip in his head. Morph went to take down Proteus but Proteus knocked the steel plate out of his head and took over Morph's body. Due to the adaptive nature of Morph's body, the presence of Proteus did not burn out his metabolism. When the Exiles tracked him to the "Heroes Reborn" world, cosmic entities "O" and "Kay" kidnapped him, saying his presence has tipped the balance of power. Proteus managed to escape by stealing data from the Panoptichron. He has inhabited the bodies of Angel Salvadore (House of M), Justice (New Universe) and Hulk (2099). He has also taken the body of Mimic of the Exiles. All of these bodies have not lasted for long and eventually withered away, with the exception of Angel Salvadore and Mimic. Proteus stated that he could not stop thinking about Blink. Whether it was because he still had some of Mimic's memories or because he actually felt something for her is not yet clear. He stated he was tired of fighting and that he just wanted to talk, but before he could say anything Longshot came in and shielded Blink, allowing her to teleport to safety. It was revealed by Proteus himself that his mind is able to recall all memories and feelings of his previous hosts. Blink tricked Proteus into wearing a portable Behavior Modification System (from Squadron Supreme's world), which she teleported into the crown he was wearing. The device brainwashed him into believing he was actually Morph, and left him able to recall only Morph's memories prior to his possession. Unaware of his true identity, he began behaving exactly like Morph and a member of the Exiles, much to the discomfort of the other Exiles. With Proteus trapped and believing he was Morph, he remained an Exile to continue fixing damaged realities. Since Morph's body does not burn out like other hosts, Morph's consciousness is still active beneath Proteus. Also, Proteus is immune to metal while in Morph's body, since wearing a metal tiara did not kill him. However, concerns about some discrepancies in "Morph's" behavior forced his teammates to plan regular brainwashings with the same device, and, eventually, put him in stasis whenever his behavior would change again. However, that device was destroyed when Psylocke and Sabretooth fought so intensely that they shook the Crystal Palace, causing a bookcase to fall on Morph's head, shattering the device. With the device shattered, it was only a matter of time before Proteus would re-emerge. Breaking free of the MNS control, Proteus banished or killed every field agent of the Exiles except Morph, possessing Sabretooth in the process. He then escaped to the Aniverse, where he took control of the Black King’s Harvesters and used them to capture Cyclops and Phoenix’s son Nathan, as well as Clarice of Academy X. Before he could further his plans, however, the freed Morph, with the help of Heather Hudson, was able to retreive the Tallus and recruit a new batch of Exiles. Havoc (one of the new recruits) and Morph have led this new team to the Aniverse, tracking down and recapturing Proteus, trapping him this time in the body of Sabretooth.
  • Proteus spent some time in the Traitor Game as "Morph", but the brainwashing faded as he was attacked by Satan Girl. He emerged with full control of his personality once again.

  • Born Kevin Sydney, he was a member of the X-Men and a close friend of Wolverine who was apparently killed in the second episode by Sentinels. He appeared to have more of his past snickering humor, probably suggesting that he was now mentally healthy and back on the team, this time permanently.
