  • "You killed the all? What the heck? That is amazing!" ~Davy the Blacksmith Ogre Shaman is a monster in stage three of Sanka Mission Map in Traitor's Ridge. During the Final Obstacle quest Blacksmith Davy pretends that Ogre Shamans would have stolen a sword from him. To obtain the sword - he says - you should kill 12 Ogre Shamans.
  • Players must use a magic ogre potion on them during the quest to kill them, because they can't be damaged by conventional means, including Vengeance, rings of recoil, or poison. If players talk to them, engage them in combat or set up a dwarf multicannon nearby, they will become aggressive and unleash their powerful counter-attack, hitting 2000-4000, hence it is inadvisable to do so. Although this attack is Magic-based, it cannot be blocked with Protect from Magic. If an ogre shaman is talked to, it will attack once with a Magic-based attack.
  • Ogre Shamans are monsters encountered in Ogre Enclave during the Watchtower Quest. Six of them have to be killed with an Anti-shaman potion (during the quest) in order to receive one of the four crystals. They attack when spoken to.
  • Ogre Shaman is the highest rank in the ogre tribes, even higher than the Chieftain. They are the religious leaders of the ogre race. They are also one of very few magic users in Bandos' army.
  • Ogre shamans are monsters found in the Ogre Enclave during the Watchtower quest. Additionally, another shaman, Grunsh, is found during the dwarf quest series.
  • Players must use a magic ogre potion on them during the quest to kill them, because they can't be damaged by conventional means, including Vengeance, rings of recoil, or poison. Once killed in this manner, they do not respawn, and therefore players never have to worry about them again. Interestingly, the dragon killed by the shaman has a combat level of only 27. According to the examine text, the dragon is a mother dragon, like other blue dragons, and when it attacks with dragonfire, it immediately takes 30 points of damage, causing the dragon to have a total of 105 hitpoints.

bestiarytext
  • Ogres are large, downright monstrous in appearance, considerably dwarfing even tall orcs. They have a plump, corpulent body, chunky hands and feet and a small, seemingly neckless head. An average adult ogre stands over twelve feet tall, and his waist circumference is almost the half of his height. Most ogres are bald and only rarely have facial hair. They use wooden clubs as weapons, banded, studded or spiked with iron; but stone hatchets or fork-like weapons are also common. While missile combat with bows or crossbows is too difficult for them, they are good at throwing heavy things, particularly boulders. They mature more quickly than humans, reaching adulthood at the age of twelve. Ogres live in tribes that inhabit the steppe and grassland of Krailos, for the most part dwelling in big leather tents or stone huts, though some ogre tribes still have nomadic tendencies. Leader of a tribe is usually the strongest male ogre. The chieftain is supported by an ogre-shaman. If the shaman is female, the two are often, but not necessarily, a couple. The chieftain is responsible for all decisions concerning the hunt and martial matters while the shaman is responsible for all affairs spiritual and social. Although the ogres are a warlike, often brutal people, they are mostly interested in good food rather than in anything else. Ogres worship the Great Hunger, a kind of spirit being they believe will eat up the entire world if not fed regularly. Therefore they often perform rites of sacrifice to feed this entity. Wandering ogre shamans summon the power of the Great Hunger in self-defense or to catch prey for their rituals. Though still enormous in size, ogre shamans are no fighters as such and prefer to keep at a distance, sending out their minions to fend off unwanted acquaintances while they slink away.
