  • Termagant
rdfs:comment
  • Termagant was a half-berserk, half-murderous and Fishlegs's mother in the books. She fell in love with Alvin the Treacherous, who was disguised as a fisherman from the Peaceable Tribe. He proposed to her with a lobster claw necklace, that he had taken from the coffin of Grimbeard the Ghastly. After Alvin abandoned her by faking his death, Termagant gave birth to their son, but she was forced to send the baby away since he was a runt. Termagant eventually dies from guilt and sadness. Her dragon was a three-headed Deadly Shadow with three names: Arrogance (left head), Innocence (right head) and Patience (the middle head), and they later became Fishlegs' dragon after reuniting.
  • Termagant was a demonic creature falsely believed by Medieval Europeans to be a deity worshipped by Muslims (who, in reality, strictly forbid such worship - being loyal only to Allah). Nevertheless the image of Termagant was utilized heavily in medieval times and in some ways became a symbolic villain in the same manner Baphomet would do, both being largely fictional beings that over time grew into something much more dangerous (in Termagant's case it was ignorance and xenophobia).
  • Termagant was a Strike-class medium cruiser in Warlord Zsinj's fleet. In 7 ABY, Termagant accompanied Iron Fist to the Graveyard to destroy Rogue Squadron and a convoy led by Mirax Terrik which was carrying bacta to fight the Krytos virus on Coruscant. The two ships and their TIE/LN starfighters destroyed most of the convoy, but the X-wings that Termagant destroyed were actually Imperials disguised as Rogue Squadron. Kirtan Loor had sent the false Rogue Squadron to destroy the convoy on his own initiative, but Ysanne Isard leaked the convoy's route to Zsinj.

Nevertheless the image of Termagant was utilized heavily in medieval times and in some ways became a symbolic villain in the same manner Baphomet would do, both being largely fictional beings that over time grew into something much more dangerous (in Termagant's case it was ignorance and xenophobia). Termagant also become immortalized as a term used to describe evil-tempered women (such as stereotypical "witches" in fiction) - which was ironic since the original Termagant was male.

By the time Rogue Squadron arrived, Iron Fist had left the area, so the squadron attacked the Strike Cruiser. The Rogues destroyed some of the Imperial starfighters, and their proton torpedoes blew the cruiser completely in half. Termagant's surviving TIEs were captured by New Republic forces.
