  • Each powerup in the Carmageddon series has an icon that represents it, even Carmageddon for the Game Boy Color. This icon is shown on the game's HUD when the player obtains its powerup, and disappears when the powerup runs out. Normally, a timer or use counter is next to the icon. Depending on whether it's a regular powerup or an item, the icons will show up on either the left part of the screen or the bottom. It depends on each game's HUD. Logically, instantaneous powerups don't have icons. Note: Icons are not to be confused with the pickups' graphics.

  • Icon is a world deeply steeped in religious significance. The first settlement on Icon is believed to be the monastery on Ithica, founded by either Zebulon himself or his immediate followers. Prince Adriano and his son Lucifer seized Icon from the native warlords in 2637. The Universal Church spread to Icon in the 30th century by way of hesychast monks converting the Twerrid mountain people. A splint sect called the Star Brethern settled on the northern Ithica continent in the 31st century, who believed all reality was equally reflective. New Style Muslims settled Fatamer, which also was home to many Universalists.
  • Icons are small symbols that every individual has. They contain a person's PID and allows them to reboot when caught in a Game Cube. A person can change clothes by downloading new outfits into their icon. Everyone has to keep a close eye on their icon; if they lose it and someone finds it they can use the PID on it to control its owner. Guardians' icons are gold and black in color. Regular sprites and binomes have white and black icons. Phong's icon is a yin-yang symbol, rather than the diamond symbol.
  • The Icon is the annexed counterpart to the Stalker. The tradition of fallen Protoss warriors being reborn into cybernetic exoskeletons inspired even their distant brothers the Dark Templar. As such they created their own versions of Dragoons designated as Stalkers with their own brand of technologies powered by void energies. Such a unit could not be ignored as a potential threat, so development of suitable counterparts were rushed into development. Special abilities:

  • Icon is an organization in Paragon City that helps heroes "get a new look" by letting them attain new costumes and edit old ones.
  • The icon is an expensive religious item owned by Viktor Skobel. It is only revealed in the finale of the game to contain very expensive diamonds within it, thus being the reason for Viktor wanting it back so badly. The icon was kept at the Skobel bank in the centre of London. It was kept in a locked safe on the top floor. Danny's crew stole the icon however and broke into the safe. John then ran off with the icon and kept it stored in the cellar of his snooker hall. Viktor's men came looking for it however and tracked John down. After killing him, they learned it was in the basement but only once Eddie O'Connor showed up to collect it also. Eddie killed the men and found the icon in the cellar. He then kept it hidden for safe keeping. Viktor meanwhile was desperate for the icon to be back in his possession. He sent his men all over the city and eventually discovered Eddie had it. After Eddie confronted Viktor, Viktor had the icon retrieved from Eddie and returned it to his possession. Thanks to the police showing up, Eddie broke free and chased after Viktor for murdering his best friend Danny West. Viktor kept the icon on him for the remainder of the stories events. In the finale, Viktor was killed at the pump house by Eddie. As he died, the icon fell away from Viktor and smashed against the floor, cracking open and releasing the hidden diamonds from within it. After his death, Eddie looked down at the icon and realised it had been the main reason for all the bad events that had occurred. The icon was ultimately left in the pump house and regardless of how the game ends, the police would surely collect it as evidence.
Due to the limited research and development time, the new exoskeleton has few differences in appearance to their original counterparts. Inverting power sources, these exoskeletons utilize High Templar energies in order to boost plasma shield defense. This change gives Icons increased endurance against enemy attacks without costing movement agility. In terms of offense, they are armed with photon pulse weaponry capable of hitting enemy air and ground units at great distances. While not as powerful as Dragoon Disruptors, these weapons have a shorter cool down allowing it to out perform both the older and replacement exoskeletons in all battle simulations. One of the Stalker's most intriguing aspects is its Blink technology. The ability to teleport short distances for scouting, assault, and retreat is an asset that the Vaul could not resist assimilating and improving. Placed in the unit's left shoulder shield is an energy optimization component that augments psi-based technology to greater levels. Once upgraded, Icons are able to teleport both short distances they can see and long distances when working in tandem with Pylons and Stasis Orbs (Marvel: Nightcrawler). Inside a psionic matrix, the optimization units can tap into the field giving users limitless Blinking potential. Properly used, Icons can continuously harass enemy units while teleporting away at the last minute to avoid heavy damage. Enemy units are then forced to attack Pylons or Warp Prisms before engaging them. This allows Icons to either focus on attacking or retreating while enemy forces are occupied. Through meticulous examination and experimentation, a way was found to bypass the safeties that prevented users from warping into anything solid. By removing such protocols, Icons use their transporters as a last resort weapon should their regular armament prove insufficient. Telefraging causes users to burst out of targets much like Broodlings (Twentieth Century Fox: Fantastic Voyage; EA Partners: Warp). The only flaw to this ability is its original purpose as blinking into solid matter is equally damaging to Icons, so it must be used sparingly. Special abilities: * Blink - unit teleports small distances it can see. Has a 10 second cooldown period. If inside a psionic matrix, unit can teleport without limit * Telefrag (passive) - unit can teleport into a target ground unit destroying it instantly at the cost of 5 HPs
  • "Icon" is the fifth episode of the eighth season of Stargate SG-1.
  • The Icon is a man of many names: Ikes to H4L187, My Friday Night 6 O'Clock to Ryokles, and President to BIGPUN9999 just to name a few. When he first came to Board 8 in the Spring of 2004, he adopted a "gimmick" that instantly polarized the board: speaking in the third person. Some people hated it, most people loved it. That's a recurrent theme with much of what Icon does. His sarcastic manner in which he goes about his business has actually managed to piss off a number of people, mostly because they have no way of discerning between what's serious (not much) and what isn't (pretty much everything). So it goes. He has a reputation for being both pompous and elitist, but again, these are labels coming from the same people who believe the phrase "Internet. Serious Business" is something to live by, and not pass about in a joking manner. Despite all this (or maybe because of it), The Icon has risen to become one of the biggest names on the board. He's won numerous user contests, including the original User Season Battle, and was elected the second President of Board 8, beating out his competition in Sir Chris and Forceful Dragon. If you're wondering, his running mate was STA, further proof that the Internet is serious business. The Icon is currently best known for his vast knowledge of indie and alternative rock (most of which he makes up), which, if you ask him (and you are), is a pretty big step up from what he used to be known for: knowing only two things, attempting to get "that" topic to 500 with Ceej posting in it, having people ask him anything, and not completing anything -- although he still moonlights in that last one. Icon attends Simon Frasier University part-time where he's waiting until he wants to find out what to do with his life. The search isn't going well, but he's reading a lot of cool books. He also lives with his wife, CrissCrossCass, in their house which doubles as a museum for toasters and penguins. He has recently created a new award that is sweeping Board 8, The ICON Award. ...Which is now a festering corpse, which also happens to spinning in it's grave. Oh, right, BIGPUN once made ytmnd about him. You can see that here:President Icon YTMND. Neato! (Oi! Only I'm allowed to say things like that! -Jeeves) icon's left testicle is currently in the possession of AlecTrevelyan006 after a bet over the winner of Majora's Mask vs. Pokemon GSC.

Icon & RocketTo hide this fact Arnus began pretending he had a son and would take the son’s place and continued doing so for many years. Up until the present day, as time went on his named changed over the years to Augustus Freeman IV the direct descendant to Arnus. Arnus is aware of his past and how he came to Earth and has spent all these years hoping and waiting for Earth to finally catch up with his home worlds alien technology. As time goes on Arnus keeps helping where he not wanting to take the lime light, he only uses his powers if they are really needed, but prefers not to. One night his house is broken into and he is forced to use his powers to protect his home and himself, but Raquel Ervin see’s this display of power and soon Arnus destiny would be sparked by the young girl. Raquel follows Arnus and tells him of her background, She was born in a gang neighborhood in , She see’s Arnus as her way out and to help clean up her streets. After several attempts she manages to finally convince Arnus to take up the cape and become Icon and takes her chance as his side kicks naming her self Rocket. Icon and Rocket help protect the streets sometimes even teaming up with other members of Milestone to get the job done. After the events in Final Crisis, which ended in Darkseid death and because of these events both the Dakotaverse and the DC Universe was on the edge of destruction by The Rift. Dharma absorbed the powers of The Rift before he could merge the two universe and thus destroying them, he called on the help of both the worlds heroes including Superman and Icon. The heroes saved the day but the Milestone universe had suffered a world disaster and in order to save millions Dharma merged his world with the DC Universe and prevented it from being destroyed; Only Icon, Superman and Dharma know of this event. With the worlds united the new heroes carried on their day to day lives and Icon and Superman have a good friendship. It also turns out that the merger with the world goes deeper then first realized. When the Green lantern Corps tries to arrest Icon, but Icon as a citizen of the Cooperative he can not be prosecuted by the Corps. Icon and his team would also later help defeat Starbreaker. The DC world places Icon under the eyes of many people one of is General Sam Lane, who after the events of New Krypton has his suppositions about the Hero. He is currently a member of the Justice League America occupying a position that has been Superman and J'onn Jonn'zz PowersIcon's lifepod altered his DNA so he would resemble a normal human being, thus enabling him to blend among Earth's natives. A side effect of this process was the maximization of his now human/alien genetic structure. Thus, Icon possesses a variety of superhuman abilities that are unusual even for a Terminan.Superhuman Strength: Icon possesses vast superhuman strength that is nearly on par with Superman's.Superhuman Speed and Reflexes: Icon possesses the ability to think, move, and react at superhuman speeds.Superhuman Stamina: Icon possesses highly efficient musculature which produces almost no fatigue toxins, granting him almost limitless stamina in all physical activities.Flight: Icon flies by manipulation of gravitons, manipulation of magnetic fields, control of his absolute molecular movement, and utilizing his superhuman speed. Icon can fly far beyond supersonic speeds, but it is unknown if he can achieve nearly the speed of light.Superhuman Senses: Icon possesses superhuman senses of sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing.Enhanced Mental Perception: Icon possesses the ability to sense & comprehend things on levels that far exceed human capabilities.Invulnerability: Icon seems to possess nigh-invulnerability & durability, being capable of withstanding tremendous impact forces, high caliber bullets, exposure to temperature and pressure extremes, and powerful energy blasts without sustaining injury. He is even capable of surviving in the vacuum of space unaided. Icon's invulnerability has not been portrayed consistently. If he is not expecting an attack, he can be injured more easily. For example, in Icon #2, he sustains a bloody nose from getting hit in the face with the butt of a rifle that surprised him. After being injured by Payback, Icon began wearing alien body armor to grant him further protection. However, in a fight with Superman, he took numerous blows from the Man of Steel and was able to match his endurance.Regenerative Healing Factor: Despite his nigh invulnerability to injury, it is possible to injure Icon. If injured, his body is capable of quickly repairing damaged tissue with much greater speed and efficiency than the normal human body.Energy Generation: Icon has the ability to generate and control a radiant energy based on positrons. He can manipulate this energy for various effects.Concussive Force Bolts: Icon can release positron energy from his hands as bolts of concussive force. A low power force bolt can flick on a light switch while a force bolt at maximum power can stagger Superman.Stun Bolts: Icon can project low-energy bolts that render human beings unconscious by disrupting the electrical impulses in their nervous systems. Icon can also use these bolts like an electromagnetic pulse to overload electronic devices.Energy Enhanced Punches: Icon can focus positron energy into his fists, which he can then use to shatter virtually any substance.Energy Pulse: Icon can release all of his body's positron energy as a massive omnidirectional pulse of devastating power.Positron Field: Icon can detect the presence of Bang Babies within his vicinity by flooding an area with a field of positrons. The field interacts with the invisible quantum well surrounding a Bang Baby, who then glows as he or she gives off mild gamma particles. Hence, Icon can use these fields to distinguish Bang Babies from other metahumans as well as normal humansAccording to Icon, he possesses powers that all humans will possess once they evolve past their limitations. In the Worlds Collide crossover with the DC universe; Icon and Superman fight. It is shown that Icon is able to hold his own against Superman. Icon even seemed to have a slight upper hand in the battle. Since Icon rarely fights beings of Superman's magnitude, it is possible that Icon is more powerful than he regularly displays. In Justice League of America (vol. 2) #28, Icon punches Superman through the JLA Watchtower, knocking the Man of Steel hundreds of yards into space with one blow. Although Icon's hand was sore after such a massive punch, Superman later admitted that he has rarely been hit that hard in his life.Icon possesses extraordinary longevity, enabling him to age at a vastly slower rate than that human beings. Hence, though centuries old, he appears to be no older than forty. Icon's lifespan is typical for a Terminan and the only power that is not the result of his genetic maximization. SkillsIcon is among the Cooperative’s most celebrated mediators. He has extensive knowledge of the Cooperative legal system as well as decades of experience in his chosen field. Icon is an equally adept corporate lawyer due to his mediator background and a century’s worth of experience in American law.Icon is also a formidable combatant, whose fighting skills rival those of Superman. Icon is well trained in unarmed and armed combat, having fought in major conflicts ranging from the Civil War to World War II. Some opponents underestimate Icon’s abilities since he tries to peacefully settle disputes before pummeling his foes.Icon is fluent in English and Galactic Standard, the native language of the Cooperative. Equipment CostumeIcon wears a costume composed of alien materials that grant him further protection from projectile weaponry, energy beams, and intense heat or cold. On his command, the Info Tool aboard his starship uses its Maker to construct Icon's costume over his civilian clothing (see Transportation). When no longer needed, the costume is disassembled, converted back to energy, and stored in the structural files of his ship's Info Tool. TransportationFor interstellar journeys, Icon employs his personal starship that is a gift from the Cooperative. Like all Cooperative vessels, Icon's starship has a faster-than-light drive that allows it to shift into the realm called hyperspace. Within hyperspace, the speed of light is not a limiting factor and thus cannot prevent the starship from quickly traversing interstellar distances. Gravity compensators provide artificial gravity that can be adjusted to the comfort level of the ship's passengers.Icon's starship contains a range of highly advanced Cooperative technology. Two notable items are the Information Tool and the Maker. Icon's starship is equipped with a local access system that links directly with the Information Tool or "Info Tool." The Info Tool is a computerized database of virtually everything anyone within the Cooperative knows. It even contains very detailed files on the cultures, languages, history and technology of Sol III (Earth) thanks to Icon's accounts of his life on the planet. The Info Tool acquires new information from written documents, verbal accounts, and visual data inputs. The database can even scan an item (organic or inorganic) and store its molecular structure within files called "software." Apart from storing and retrieving data, the local access to the Info Tool can also link to and control any computer-operated device or system. This includes Cooperative technology like the starship's Maker to terrestrial technology like phone lines or lights.Because of all the data it has accumulated over the millennia, the Info Tool is truly self-aware and even has a personality of sorts. The Info Tool relies on verbal inputs to receive commands to perform certain functions. In terms of information retrieval, the Tool can respond either verbally or by displaying its findings via holographic imagers aboard the starship. The Info Tool remains in contact with Icon via a communicator hidden in his costume.[24] The communicator's maximum range is unknown. The Maker is a molecular factory that can construct any physical item, molecule by molecule, from structural data files stored within the Info Tool. These data files are called "software" while the objects created by the Maker are known as "hardware". The Maker operates by tapping the vast energies of the reactor for Icon's starship and converting them into matter used for the construction of hardware. The Maker can create any item, terrestrial or extraterrestrial, in a matter of seconds as long as its structure is on file within the Info Tool. These include medicines, machinery (e.g., vehicles), clothing, and even food. The Maker can repair or modify constructed hardware by altering its molecular structure according to the whims of its user. The Maker can also rearrange the molecular structure of items it did not create in order to change their appearance or function. To do so, the Info Tool must first scan the structure of the object to be modified. For example, Icon employed the Maker to build the starship garage beneath his mansion's swimming pool.Icon's starship has numerous projectors through which the Maker can construct hardware within the vessel. To build an item outside the vessel, the Maker relies on a special probe mounted on the underside of the starship. It is the probe that facilitates the Maker repairing or remodeling Icon's possessions over great distances. Icon has often employed this feature to repair any damage to his costume.Icon's starship is also equipped with cloaking technology that can render the vessel invisible to both the human eye and all forms of Earthly electronic surveillance. Though unusual for a civilian vessel, the cloak was installed in the ship so Icon could use it on Earth without attracting attention. When not in use, Icon stores his starship in his "garage," a hangar located beneath his mansion’s swimming pool. The pool slides out of the way to provide easy entry or exit for the ship.
  • Throughout history, various religious cultures have been inspired or supplemented by concrete images, whether in two dimensions or three. The degree to which images are used or permitted, and their functions — whether they are for instruction or inspiration, treated as sacred objects of veneration or worship, or simply applied as ornament — depend upon the tenets of a given religion in a given place and time. In Eastern Christianity and other icon-painting Christian traditions, the icon is generally a flat panel painting depicting a holy being or object such as Jesus, Mary, saints, angels, or the cross. Icons may also be cast in metal, carved in stone, embroidered on cloth, painted on wood, done in mosaic or fresco work, printed on paper or metal, etc. Creating free-standing, three-dimensional sculptures of holy figures was resisted by Christians for many centuries, out of the belief that daimones inhabited pagan sculptures, and also to make a clear distinction between Christian and pagan art. To this day, in obedience to the commandment not to make "graven images", Orthodox icons may never be more than three-quarter bas relief. Comparable images from Western Christianity are generally not described as "icons", although "iconic" may be used to describe a static style of devotional image.

  • Icon is a studio album recorded by Asia band members John Wetton & Geoff Downes.
The Li Halan founded the city of Bao in 3230, which included a representative legislative body at the Great Palace of the People. During Second Republic, Icon was spiritual and philosophical leader of the resistance to Republican rule. After the Fall, the Prince Tupal imposed antinomistic and decadent rule over the world (this is before Cardano's conversion). Prince Ustirin the Unspeakable, son of Kelniron and ruler of the house from 4201 to 4322, revived Manja worship and worship of the Ur. The world's patron Saint, St. Solius, was martyred by Prince Kelniron the Cruel in 4207. Prince Cardano imposed cruel and crushing taxes that spawned a rebellion that blew into full scale civil war in 4416. It was during the civil war that Cardano was converted, while chasing his cousin, Count Aurelio. After the conversion, the house began providing security, food, health services, lowered taxes, representation in government, etc. Prince Halvor the Theocrat is revered on Icon as a saint. Avestite Brother Dorjan, in 4875, raised an Army of Righteousness to purge Vau influence from the world, killing hundreds of thousands of people. Brother Dorjan was brought under control only after he accused the Duke Lei Ming of Vau sympathies. The Duke manuevered to have the Avestite purfiy himself by accusing him of sexual congress with a Vau woman. The memory of Brother Dorjan has kept further cleansings from getting out of hand. Anunnaki ruins dot the planet, such as at Parjyrr. Eskatonics claim the planet is girt by powerful energy emanating from the planet itself, but what exactly this means is up for debate.
  • Lobby Icons are cosmetics next to players' names in lobbies. When you join a game lobby, in the player list, your name will have an icon next to it. You can choose which Icon you want displayed in your Customization Options.
  • Icons are symbols on a player's map (minimap or world map) representing certain buildings and locations.

The back of an icon is covered with detailed circuitry. This contains the PID, all the information that makes up the individual that owns the icon. This information can be copied and downloaded into portable devices, such as Dot's Organizer, for transfer to databases in places like the Principal Office, to be registered there. Guardians' icons are gold and black in color. Regular sprites and binomes have white and black icons. Phong's icon is a yin-yang symbol, rather than the diamond symbol. Viruses do not have icons and are incapable of rebooting, although most viruses do have a symbol to represent themselves. Hexadecimal was given an icon only after Bob begged Phong to register her with the Principal Office so she would be backed up when the system restarted. When Megabyte infected binomes their icons turned green and blue in color. When Hexadecimal left to save the Net, Little Enzo didn't want her to leave. The powerful virus was touched by the young sprite's feelings, and gave him a gift, touching his icon and turning it red and black with a gold outline, like herself. Game Sprites do not have icons. They have a triangle shaped symbol called a Back-up. The Game Sprite AndrAIa did not want to leave Enzo Matrix and she figured out that if she attached her Back-up onto his icon then she might be able to leave with him. Her plan worked; when the Game Cube left it did not take AndrAIa with it, leaving her in Mainframe. A Game Sprite's icon is very unique, as it links them to the Game they are in. Mainframe's leaders also discovered that icons can change from a standard icon into a Game Sprite Back-up and back again. If this is done while inside a Cube and the Game leaves, it will take the sprite with it thinking they are a Game Sprite. If they change their icon back when they are loaded into a new Game, once the Game leaves, they will be left in the system the Cube was in. Hackers and Search Engines have icons, but they are only used for their own reformatting. Their icons are not the traditional diamond shape, each seems to have a unique look. If they are caught in a Game, the Cube will read them as a Game Sprite since they are not System Sprites, and the Game will take Hackers and Search Engines with it, win or lose. Because of this, Hackers and Search Engines avoid Games if they can. Spectrals also do not have icons, however they do not possess back-ups like Game Sprites have. Because of their inability to reboot, the spectrals reformatted some of their people to be sprites so that they would have icons and could reboot in the Games. Code Masters do not have icons either. They are very rare, especially on the Net. They have had little experience with Game Cubes, so they do not need to reboot. Code Masters are not linked to systems like sprites and binomes. If a system crashes, a sprite's PID is on file and can be backed-up; if a Code Master sees the system crashing, they will leave the system.
