Guybrush was quickly adopted into the Lanun ranks where he found Falamar to be a kindred spirit. He described Hannah as a cross between LeChuck and Lemonhead of Skull Island. We aren't really sure what he was talking about.

By the series' end, he had established himself as a competent swashbuckler. He would regularly be voiced by Dominic Armato. Guybrush's chief nemesis was the dreaded zombie pirate LeChuck, whom he faced throughout various installments of the series. At one point in LeChuck's Revenge, it was suggested that the two were brothers, which has since been brushed aside.

Though a mighty pirate by his own account, it is a running joke throughout the games for characters to garble Guybrush Threepwood's unusual name, either deliberately or accidentally, including "Thriftweed", "Peepwood", "Gorbush" and "Threekwood". When the file was saved, Deluxe Paint automatically appended the extension '.brush'; before the designers could think of a proper name they got used to referring to 'Guy.brush' when talking about the sprite and decided to use it. "Threepwood" was the name of Dave Grossman's RPG character and was picked through voting. The name comes from P. G. Wodehouse's family of characters including Galahad Threepwood.
