- In 2089, during her expedition in the Isle of Skye, Shaw, along with her love interest and fellow archeologist Charlie Holloway, discovers a star map among several unconnected ancient cultures. They interpret this as an invitation from humanity’s forerunners, or "Engineers" to go there. Shaw shares her discovery with Peter Weyland, the elderly CEO of Weyland Corp, who later funds the creation of the scientific vessel Prometheus to follow the map to the distant moon LV-223. Shaw comes along, because she believed that the Engineers created humanity and because she desired to "meet her maker". There she discovers, that the Engineers were planning to wipe out humanity with a biological weapon, "The Dark Liquid", but it went wrong and all but one died. They put the last of them out of cryosleep

He doesn´t respond and instead he takes his ship with the intention of taking it to Earth and unleash there the weapon. She warns the captain about the intentions of the Engineer and the captain, with the Prometheus, rams and destroys the Engineer ship, destroying it on the way. She then takes David-8, who had been beheaded by the Engineer, to a second Engineer ship on the planet, which are present there in great numbers and, with his help, she decides to fly to the Engineer homeworld to find out, why they wanted to destroy humanity. Before she leaves with him, she leaves a warning signal in place in order to warn other ships not to land on the moon behind, so that this event, or even worse ones will not happen again.
