Getting rid of Daphne, Velma and Fred as well as introducing more comedy did not hurt Scooby ratings in the least bit. In fact, the series was renewed for a second season. Overall, twenty episodes were produced with three Scooby adventures per episode. Another interesting note is that this double-star vehicle was one of the few that featured Scooby as a back-up series.
