Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island was dedicated to him as it was the first official Scooby-Doo production without him as the voice of Scooby-Doo and was succeeded by Scott Innes. Previously to that the Johnny Bravo crossover episode, Bravo Dooby-Doo, also had Hadley Kay as Scooby as Messick was too sick by then.
