  • Oita Airport is located on the Kunisaki peninsular quite far away from Oita city itself and actually lies closer to Beppu. It's mainly a domestic airport but does have flights to Seoul and Shanghai. For international departures, Fukuoka airport is more convenient. The quickest way to the airport from the city centre is by hovercraft and bus (about 40 mins). The train from Oita to Hakata Station in Fukuoka is a sonic and costs about 2,500 yen one way. It takes about 2 hours. You can take a subway to the airport from Hakata Station. The JR Kyushuu website has the timetable and various routes.

  • This place is NOT RECOMMENDED. The owner was offensive and racist when we perfectly legitimately questioned a mistake on the bill .

  • The largest department store in Oita.
  • A large department Store. Loft in the basement. A nice beer garden on the roof. Less expensive than Tokiwa.
