Like his father he would only have one term, being defeated by the Evil Andrew Jackson, who actually beat him the first time.

- John Quincy Adams was President of the United States during the early 19th century. He was considered one of the most intelligent Presidents, but he was too stubborn to build any sort of reasonable coalition.
- As president, he sought to modernize the American economy and promoted education. Adams enacted a part of his agenda and paid off much of the national debt. He was stymied by a Congress controlled by his enemies, and his lack of patronage networks helped politicians eager to undercut him. He lost his 1828 bid for re-election to Andrew Jackson. In doing so, he became the first president since his father to serve a single term.

He was also a nine-year-old boy genius during the Revolutionary War (he led an army of 6000 with George Washing), he co-signed the Declaration of Independence during the 4th of July (he came up with the idea of celebrating the day by drinking Samuel Adams' beer, eating delicious barbeque prepared by a slave, and watching football during the Patriots game, but no fireworks; I dont know who came up with that idea), and after all this he became a Founding Father during the Revolutionary War (not bad for a nine year old)[1]. He also ended slavery way before Lincoln did (that no-good-cheater-copying-bastard).

He also ended slavery way before Lincoln did (that no-good-cheater-copying-bastard). Today he is remembered as the son of former president and Founding Father John Adams and a relative of Samuel Adams (brewer, patriot). During his presidency, Qubya (as many called him) used his baldness to great effect, blinding political opponents and burning down barns filled with livestock corrupted by the spirit of Satan. He was eventually defeated in a rigged election by Democrat rival Andrew Jackson, but he made a triumphant return to the world of freedom after languishing in Congress as a representative from Taxachusetts/Gaysrael by representing a bunch of slaves in the watershed Amistad trial. He won over the Supreme Court and the slaves were returned to Africa, which is nowhere at all.

He served as a Senator from Massachusetts (1803-1808) in between stints as ambassador to the Netherlands, Prussia, Russia, and Britain. As Secretary of State for James Monroe, he helped formulate the Monroe Doctrine in 1820. As President he proposed a program of modernization and educational advancement, but was stymied by Congress. Adams lost his 1828 bid for re-election to Andrew Jackson, whom he had defeated four years earlier. Adams was elected a U.S. Representative from Massachusetts after leaving office, the only president ever to do so, serving for the last 17 years of his life. In the House he became a leading opponent of slavery. He died of a cerebral hemorrhage two days after casting a loud "no"-vote against a resolution to honor officers who served in the Mexican-American War.

In doing so, he became the first president since his father to serve a single term. Adams is best known as a diplomat who shaped America's foreign policy in line with his ardently nationalist commitment to America's republican values. More recently Howe (2007) portrayed Adams as the exemplar and moral leader in an era of modernization. During Adams' lifetime, technological innovations and new means of communication spread messages of religious revival, social reform, and party politics. Goods, money, and people traveled more rapidly and efficiently than ever before. Adams was elected a U.S. Representative from Massachusetts after leaving office, serving for the last 17 years of his life with far greater acclamation than he had achieved as president. He is, so far, the only president later elected to the United States House of Representatives. Animated by his growing revulsion against slavery, Adams became a leading opponent of the Slave Power. He predicted that if a civil war were to break out, the president could abolish slavery by using his war powers. Adams also predicted the Union's dissolution over the slavery issue, but said that if the South became independent there would be a series of bloody slave revolts.
