It promptly became the flagship of a major Imperial task force under the command of Warlord Jarl Rellik ordered to conquer the Caspian Democratic Union. During the Caspian Annexation Campaign, Emperor Valak would serve as the Imperial fleet's headquarters, directing the rest of the Imperial fleet as they engaged the Caspian Navy. She largely remained out of the thick of the fighting, though light skirmishes would result in minimal damage. After the end of the conflict, Emperor Valak would figure prominently in Valak's campaign against the New Republic. Valak would meet her end at Sluis Van in 9 ABY, for while the third Death Star managed to obliterate the planet, the Star Destroyer would be the focus of two major Republican warships. Damaged beyond immediate repair, High Command decided it best to scuttle the warship shouldst it fall into enemy hands.
