- The highest aspect of the Imperial government is the Imperial High Command, which is chaired by the Emperor and his two lieutenants: the Executor and Dark Lord of the Sith. Represented on this are the various branches; the ministries of the government, the Sectors (headed by Moffs), the Imperial Army, the Imperial Navy, COMPNOR, and the city-states. The current Emperor is Thomas Cherokee. The current Executor is Guinar Ndengin who acts as the Emperor's deputy in all public matters. The shadowy role of Darth Knyte is not well known, but he isn't believed to play a major role in day-to-day management.

The Galactic Empire is currently ruled by the Imperial Regent and Supreme Commander Grand Admiral Thrawn. Fleet Admiral Gilad Paelleon is his right hand man that helps run the day to day operations of the Empire. Thrawn has adopted many policies that were enacted under the regentship of James Ardin. Though still authoritarian, the Empire now operates with a slightly softer and more honorable hand. Random arrests, and the terrorizing of its own citizens is no longer the policy of the authorities. An alien in a human dominated government, Thrawn has many enemies in the Imperial hierarchy, especially among the Moffs. Many of his policies, such as a greater acceptance of women and aliens, does not sit well with the traditional ruling class that prospered during the days of Palpatine and Damascus. In order to consolidate power and maintain control over an often times unwieldy bureaucracy, Thrawn has placed loyal members of the Imperial Navy in many positions of power. The Armed Forces, and the Navy specifically, are the most influential and powerful faction in the Imperial hierarchy. This has led the Moffs to scheme with the objective to undermine Thrawn and his policies. There is great tension within the Imperial hierarchy because of it. The Empire and New Republic are still partners in a truce that Thrawn and Leia Organa-Solo signed before the Xen’Chi War. The truce is an uneasy one, as a common enemy no longer unites them. Tensions rise between the two on a daily basis. The Empire and Jedi have also signed a non-aggression pact, which guarantees neither will work against the other in matters of war or politics.

He and Sidious did righteous battle against the Rebel Alliance, a band of terrorists aided by the Jedi, a cult best characterized as "space hippies". The Rebels would not relent in their evildoing because they hated the Empire's freedom, so Sidious and Vader had no choice but to work through the dark side very quickly, with little discussion, and launch a Pre-emptive Action in order to strike back. Of course, Lucas had to bow to liberal Hollywood Jews producers by having the Empire ultimately lose, which only proves that Hollywood wants America to lose the war on terror. But, who knows what the future will bring; perhaps the Empire will ultimately prevail in the three more Star Wars movies Lucas is bound to make.
- The Galactic Empire was a human empire that originated in the Cygnus Arm of their Galaxy. It started as one of the many human empires seeded across the Galaxy by the Precursors.
