Exploiting the sabotage of the Drev'starn sensor arrays by Bothan resistance fighters only hours earlier the Republic was able to engage in conservative, methodical push through the city, driving the outnumbered Imperial garrison back street by street. By midday, the Republic had routed the Imperial defenders, who conducted an orderly retreat toward the Covepi'starn Pass with their forces and armor intact.
