abstract
  • After Becky McDonald had been falsely arrested in August 2009 on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply (orchestrated by corrupt police officer DC Hooch and her ex-boyfriend Slug), she and husband Steve sought the advice of a Solicitor. Having explained how she had been set-up by the two men, the solicitor advised that since there were no witnesses who could verify that Slug had actually planted the drugs and cash at the Rovers and because the couple didn't know how to trace him to find out whether he would be willing to stand up in court and admit to conspiracy to supplying drugs and attempting to pervert the course of justice, no jury in the land would believe their story. When Steve complained that he was paying £150 per hour for him to help them, the solicitor pointed out that he was also paid in an advisory capacity and told Becky to prepare herself for a custodial sentence.
